Sounds like some of Dave's poppy-cock crap to me. ;) Glad he could get it worked into a "conversation" though. Have Mike ask him how he busted a house break-in yesterday......
Poppy-cock I raised an eyebrow when I read "stratification of temperature zones..." It sounded fishy...Dave using big (possibly made up) words to sound like an authority on the subject. [grin]
hello I just got caught up--I think it took me a couple of hours. Wow, what a scary experience that took you to the hospital! Hopefully that won't happen again, but they tell me that once you get dehydrated, you're at an increased risk for it happening again so you have to keep up your water-drinking. You're doing such a marvelous job on this blog!! You'll have a wonderful account of your trip to enjoy for years to come! Thank you so much for sharing with us, your readers! We love "traveling" along with you. Thanks again! Looking forward to seeing you when you get back!
Really? I had no idea there was a Postal Museum! Where have I been? I thought we'd been to all the major museums! And the real Air & Space Museum is out by Dulles Airport--it's really big and very cool. You did a lot in one day, and I'm sure your feet hurt!! The blocks in D.C. are really long!!! But you'll have to go back--really need more than one day in D.C. (Sorry this is so late--just got home and I'm catching up!!)
Kinda a bit of a funny, the t-shirt comment. You know, when someone goes somewhere they are entitled to say "Been there, done that, got the t-shirt". This looked like something you really enjoyed so I was just asking if you now had the obligatory (sp?) t-shirt. ;)
Geeze! Why is it I make friends, and marry someone, who need to be told to drink!?! Very glad you are ok! Maybe this'll teach you, for a few weeks at least. ;)
Gonna miss your blogging when you get home. :)
Caught up I had the union convention so haven't been able to read until today. Dad and I are caught up although you ended three days before today. I am loving traveling vicariously through your blog! Love to you both,.
Binge Blogging I'm saving 2 or 3 (or 5) days' worth of blogging so I can use an entire day catching up so you can all binge read them. Actually, Day Thirty-Six wasn't posted along with the others because I lost my wifi connection and couldn't retrieve it so I gave up. I haven't gotten back on the computer until now. I will post it soon, along with the next couple.
Not sure if the statue "performance" thing is the new version of alphabet cards (so to speak). We have seen them here and even in Greece. I see it as another street performance 'act'. So glad you are having all these experiences!!!!!!
Provincetown It was such a long drive to Provincetown from our hotel on Cape Cod that we didn't get to spend much time there. Next time I'm going the way you went. I'm enjoying the blogging. Glad you're enjoying yourselves.
Gosh, I hope I haven't over said it, but I am STILL so excited for you guys! Doing so much, having a good amount of time to do it in. So exciting! And as I keep saying, thank you so much for the blogging!
D.C. I've been to that Postal Museum......loved all that history in D.C. I hope you're enjoying yourselves. Loved the Rotunda (sp) of the Capitol Building......so much to see......fun, fun, fun.
Stalker So you're a poultry stalking, 8 year old boy......I'm learning a lot about you, Aileen. I'm enjoying your blogging. I really disliked history in school.....now, it fascinating. Loved Gettysburg and all the history in the NE. Went to Louisa May Alcott' s house( I've read "Little Women" a few times) Traveling is so great.....lucky you.
Relax!!! Have a relaxing fun time visiting for the next two weeks or so. No house to haul around. We ran in to toll roads too, but managed to avoid them. Glad you made it safe and sound. Have a wonderful time. Love you.
Shoo-fly Pie I have a recipe, and, in fact, have made shoo-fly pie several times in my life. Let me know if you want some. BTW, it is also known as molasses crumb cake/pie.
