Great story and amazing pictures Loving your blogs so far. Your pictures are wonderful. We have aspirations of doing the Trans Siberian Express sometime (I do get confused with the trans-pennine express though, which of course is totally different. Anyway, your blogs are inspiring.
Hope you're enjoying China. Let us know if we can give you any hints when you get down to our end (Vietnam).
Vladivar the great Vodka. Excellent story and again brilliant pictures, you will have to show Mum and I how to do it when you get back home or when we meet you somewhere, Love to you all. Take Care. Dad X
the evils of vodka?! Hi guys, it looks like you are having great fun so far - fab pics of Nate and Gabe! You have probably learnt your lesson about drinking with Russians, we'd imagine they could drink anyone under the table. Hope you are enjoying China now you are there...at least the food will be better and cheaper there! Safe travels Donna and Neil x

Excellent Very beautiful photos.
EdVallance, Edward, we wish you successful traveling on one of the most surprising places in Russia, Kamchatka. Be mandatory bought in Geysers.
Crouching Boy, yeah! Gee, thanks so much for all these pics. Have been to Russia but I was a total failure in photography. My fav at the Hermitage Museum is the Crouching Boy and I soooo love your photo of this masterpiece! You have to share with us your secret in taking these lovely photos. I am pretty sure it isn't just your camera as you have always composed your photos in such a way that the colors are so vivid and heavy with some sentimentality I just can't put a finger to. These photos are way better than those taken by pros and those postcards!
Simply staggering photos, thanks for sharing :) On my many visits to St Petersburg I've never managed to capture the city's beauty in the way you have - massive thumbs up! Am also headed for the Russian Far East tomorrow, Kamchatka in fact, will be there for 10 days...
Thanks for all the kind comments about the photos... Makes all that time sitting editing them when the kids have gone to bed more worth it!
In answer to what gives them that 'look'? They're mostly HDR photos, normally I use Photomatix to process them, but I've been playing around with Dynamic Photo HDR recently, which is a little ore user friendly and gives a sharper result.
Can't get over the photos Whatever and however you do with these snapshots, they are simply stunning. I wish I can take photos like those! And I noticed too how you take photos of beer all over. MJ should be posting your beer shots on her thread! Btw, love ur boys. They are lucky to be having this traveling experience this early.
So... It's been six years since we got back from our big family travels. A lot can happen in six years and the kids are growing at a pace that's completely overwhelming.
We have 'settled' back into life in the UK, which for all its problems is an amazing country and we love it here. We've got back on track with our careers and the kids are progressing well with their schooling.
As for travel, thankfully we still haven't stopped. Over the last few years we've been to a few more places in Europe, spent many weeks in Thailand and Malaysia, celebrated our 10 yea... full info
