boring old fartdom here I come....... love the blogs me and my friends at work enjoy the pictures and we feel as if old fartdom is only round the corner for us. We need to be more adventurous and I don't mean putting daz in the town's fountain [the school kids did that last week - fantastic]. The kittens have gone to their new home - their new mum called me and said we got them a cat bed, waste of effort, they sleep on the sofa [thats my boys - taught them everything they know!] Molly has a new boyfriend - he is fancy - possibly a bombay - murphy pulls his best darth mal face everytime he sees him.
New rugby season starts next week az was wearing his new scrum cap whilst washing up - tad over the top but hey, we live on the edge. just thought i'd update you on the home scene, nothing else to report, and in the best hill street blues mode - be careful out there lol kjxx
'O my god' is all I can say my heart was in my throat just reading that! How on earth you plucked up the courage, well done you all, I wish I was brave enough to even try half of what you have done in such a short space of time. I certainly need a large whisky!!!
Once again a most fasinating read, I really look forward to the next installment

Wow, why did I ever leave home?! Stunning - I am travelling in Europe at the moment and whenever I get homesick I look on travelblog for pics of New Zealand. Your pics are wicked, well done.
And they don't call it Aotearoa (Land of the long white cloud) for nothing, January and February would be a very different story weather-wise.
Loved it. I too enjoyed Uruguay. I went once during the winter and I had a great time. I returned in that summer and I had a blast. The beaches, clubs, bars, walks on the rambla. Everything was great. It's nice because there's always something to do. You're also not limited to the capital. There's Colonia, Punta del Este, Piriapolis, and many more. Summer is the preferred time to go but winter is fun too. I'm returning next month!!!! Hopefully you two will return during the summer.
A Uruguay lover agrees Hi guys, just read your blog and I'm so disappointed you didn't get to see Uruguay at its finest. We spent 2 weeks there in January and it was one of my favourite places I visited in 5 months in S.America.
I guess I'm glad I wasn't there in the winter!
Some of our highlights included sunny days on the beaches of Punta del Diablo, hikes through gorgeous sand dunes, getting lost (through lack of enough buses) in Central Uruguay and meeting some incredibly friendly people, delicious food, cheap everything and awesome conversations with locals.
I hope your next trip there is better, but I have to admit, I love you attitude about it!!
Enjoy the rest of your holiday!
yay for toucans! sounds like you guys had a great time. i saw no toucans when i was there, though truthfully i didn't know to look - good sighting. i didn't make it to the brazilian side - i would have had to get a $100 visa to do it! good to see your photos. i made that roundtrip bus ride from BA with one day for the falls. it was a killer but worth it. keep enjoying!
Spectacular Michael Faye what spectacular pictures of the falls. Makes me even more determined to see them now. Back to Brazil we have to go. For two weeks this time. Love and miss you both. Safe trip to New Zealand.x
soooo jealous omg i am so jealous u have done my dream and been to Brazil! John and I have spoken about getting married in Brazil in 2009 and then touring around a few weeks, not sure how long i'd be able to get off work though. keep up the good work you two, you are doing tremendous and i love reading your updates and then telling John where u have been.
whats next? Argentina and then where?
Makes me wish... I wish I was young enuf 2 do it now. Great pictures, great storytelling. Almost as good as being with you there. Keep it coming dudes.
The best so far Hey guys, these are the best pictures so far. The one of you in that pool is amazing - I take it Faye took the picture - good photography girl! I also love the one of you 'holding' Faye in the palm of your hand - so cool. Lots of love xx
Its all white now Mick, what a story! it was an excellent read, so full of things for other travellers to see and do! Good pictures too. Take care see you on Skype sometime. Dad!
Rurre company... We went with a company called Anaconda Tours, we booked it once arriving in Rurrenabaque and left the next morning. there are loads of campanies trying for your attention so scout around till you find an itinerary and price that suits... All being said though Anaconda were excellent and it was only $57... and you got a free T-Shirt!!! :)
Not too bad at all! It's pretty dangerous in that if you do go over the edge, you probably won't make it. to put things in perspective though, the company we went with pretty much started it all many, many years ago and have never had a fatality!
As your a biker already I'm sure you'll be fine!
Your Mum's right ! Hi, sounds like your having a fantastic time. I think you should publish this blog as a book on your return, its better than any travel book i've ever read!. Maybe it could pay for your next trip?.. Keep enjoying yourselves. Your certainly not going to get bored! X
So... It's been six years since we got back from our big family travels. A lot can happen in six years and the kids are growing at a pace that's completely overwhelming.
We have 'settled' back into life in the UK, which for all its problems is an amazing country and we love it here. We've got back on track with our careers and the kids are progressing well with their schooling.
As for travel, thankfully we still haven't stopped. Over the last few years we've been to a few more places in Europe, spent many weeks in Thailand and Malaysia, celebrated our 10 yea... full info
