We explored this little town while Mike's Lectric bike motor was being replaced. Memorial Park is home to many community-funded projects such as the "Belle of St. Marys" Canal Boat, Memorial Covered Bridge, Veterans Walkway, Clock Tower, and Grotto. Grand Lake St, Marys, completed in 1845, was a reservoir to supply water for the Miami and Erie Canal. For many years, the 17,500-acre reservoir was the largest artificial body of water in the world. The "Belle of St. Marys" is a replica of a full-scale canal boat that was used to travel along the canal. Celina is situated on the northwestern shores of Grand Lake St. Marys. Nearby Windy Point is a rocky jetty that protrudes out into the lake towards Safety Island. This scenic trail has a full view of the lake from both sides. ... read more

We spent a few days at wonderful friends camped on their driveway. It was great to catch up. They took us out on Lake Norman in their boat with friends we both know from Columbus. Mike was also introduced to pickleball. He was feeling it the next day. Lois was able to have dinner with a dear friend that lives in Charlotte while we were there as well. As always a fun time in the Charlotte, NC area. Such a beautiful place!... read more

We enjoyed 3 days in historic Savannah. Located along the Savannah River it is the largest port in Georgia. This charming southern city offers art, architecture, delicious cuisine, trendy boutiques, haunted stories, and lush greenspaces all under a veil of Spanish moss. We parked the Jeep and walked all over the city, strolling through many of the neighborhood squares. We jumped back in Mazie and headed to Bonaventure Cemetery. This is a rural cemetery on a bluff of the Wilmington River, east of Savannah. It is the largest of the city's municipal cemeteries, containing nearly 160 acres. Last we headed to Wormsloe Historic Site. The oak avenue of the property is lined with over 400 live oaks and is often photographed and included in motion pictures. We enjoyed the history museum in the visitor center and ... read more

We stayed at Sun Outdoors RV Park in St. Augustine. This had us close to the historic district and a Planet Fitness. While in St. Augustine we explored the fort- Castillo de San Marcos, took a Trolley Tour of the city, strolled through the shops on St. George street, toured Flagler College, saw the lighthouse on Anastasia Island, went to the beach on the Island as well (we prefer the Pensacola beaches), and enjoyed a fish dinner at Fish Camp Restaurant.... read more

Our campground in this area was the Leon County Parks and Recreation Coe Landing on Lake Talquin. We drove into Tallahassee and rode about 10 miles of the Tallahassee-St Marks Historical Railroad State Trail. We had hoped to ride all the way to St. Marks, but Mike's e-bike motor was not working. The we drove by the capital building (3rd tallest capital building in the US) and onto the Florida State University campus- beautiful! The last stop was the Alfred B Maclay Gardens State Park. It is a day use park with beautiful grounds. The ornamental gardens were first planted in 1923 by Alfred B and Louise Maclay after they purchased the property for their winter home. We enjoyed walking through the gardens and listening to the audio at each station. The gardens included a beautiful ... read more

Time for the beach! We spent 3 nights in Pensacola. We arrived Friday, and after getting set-up at our campsite at the Pensacola RV Park, we headed to Rosamond Johnson Beach, Gulf Islands National Seashore. Our America the Beautiful pass got us in free! The beach was beautiful and not crowded. The next day we enjoyed Palafo Market in downtown Pensacola. This farmer's market has artisans, crafters, bakers, and others selling their goods. We came back to the RV with some goodies and hunkered down for a few hours of thunderstorms. Sunday, after church at Echo Life, we headed to Pensacola Beach Boardwalk, the Pensacola Pier, and then the Santa Rosa National Shores Beach. We highly recommend the National Shore Beaches, beautiful!... read more

We stayed at Sun Outdoors RV Resort in Ponchatoula, LA as our home base to explore New Orleans. The resort has many amenities-pickleball courts, 18 hole Put-Put course, pool, and lazy river to name a few. We did not head into the French Quarter, as most people do when in New Orleans. We went to Mardi Gras World to get an up-close look at some of the floats and props used in New Orleans parades. Loved the tour and seeing the production side of this part of New Orleans. Then we took a 2-hour walking tour of the Garden District. Our guide, Sean, was very knowledgeable about the area and some of the residents-past and present of the homes.... read more

Another 5 hours of driving today to get us to Houston. We took a quick jaunt to Uptown Houston to see a man-made waterfall. The next day we visited Johnson Space Center, the Training base and home for our nation’s astronauts and the site of Mission Control. At Space Center Houston, we walked around inside and saw exhibits on space suits, displays for Apollo, Mercury, Gemini and Artemis programs, the mission to Mars, and the International Space Station. Outside we took an open-air tram tour of the George W.S. Abbey Rocket Park which housed a Saturn V rocket, and then walked over to Independence plaza to explore a space shuttle and a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.... read more

We spent a night in Stockton, TX on our way to San Antonio, TX. We glamped at Alsatian RV Resort in Castroville. We learned about a self-guided walking tour of the town from our RV neighbor. We ventured out one day and did the tour. The tour takes you past many historic Alsatian style homes and buildings. While in San Antonio we explored the Riverwalk, the Alamo, Market Square, San Jose Mission, Pearl district, Castroville, and Fiesta San Antonio. We loved all the history and culture that are part of the San Antonio area! We anticipate returning for another visit in the future, still so much to see and do!... read more
