wll i think i last left you in venice. i dont seem to be blogging too much but oh well. i took the night train from venice up to vienna. vienna is a beatiful city. i made friend with some british kids and we had a good time going out together. the food was great. next came prague. even better looking than vienna. truly the nicest hostel i have stayed in so far. it was like a nice hotel room with luxurious bunk beds. i met some new brits here and continued the party. the city was great. i dont understand a word of czech by the way. next i went to sazlburg. looked at all the mozart stuff and ate chocolate balls. short stay. then i went over to reutte in the mountains of western ... read more

Well since the girls are gone, I went up to Cinque Terre for three days of not doing anything. Definately the prettiest place I have been yet on the trip. I shared an apartment with a bunch of Australian girls who were spending a week there. I basically just wandered around for a couple of days amazed by the mountainous beauty and the roar of the ocean. It is a chain of 5 villages, so one day i made the hike from the east end to the west. About 9 km. Great stuff. I have now moved on to Venice where I am going to recreate the theft in the Italian job to fund the rest of my vacation. After this I get out of the heat and head up north to Austria and the Czech ... read more

sorry it has taken me so long to post, i have been super busy and there hasnt been as much free time to find an internet cafe to goof off in. i will probably start writing more now that the girls are gone. i think i last wrote we we got back from Merrakech (sp). We then moved on to Sevilla, which is hot. They are true followers of the siesta. Nice walking tour there. Fantastic food. We then moved on to Barcelona. Great city. We ate glorious seafood, anna went to the beach, and oh yeah, we were involved in the rioting after the world cup. one of the best experiences of the trip so far. due to some issues, we were unable to go to the south of france and the cinque terra. that ... read more

Well, we made it to Marrakech after a short flight delay. We made it to our hotel, which turned out to be pretty decent. Not much night life around it though. We spent all of the 7th wandering around the souqs and various markets. I havent decided if I like the Berber methodology of negotiation. It makes you feel like everyone is trying to cheat you. By the way, learn some arabic before you go. The food was pretty freaking good if your down with olives and lamb. The coolest event was going to the market late at night. IT was like the entire city converges in this one area to trade and entertain late into the night. Pretty exciting. WE took our pictures with snakes and such. The next day was travel back to spain. ... read more

i have heard a lot of reports that i dont blog enough and that i dont go into enough detail. well, i am on vacation, most of it you can hear about it when i get back. it is hard enough to figure out if i am going to morocco tomorrow or to seville. to tell you the truth, i will be lucky to know where i am spending the night until a couple of hours before bed time. but that is what makes the trip so interesting. i´ll let you know if i get there. but lets put all that aside. i rolled through normandy and then spent a couple of days in the seaside town of la rochelle. nice little town. i saw some old lady french breasts at the beach. exactly what every ... read more

I am done with Paris and have made my way over to Normandy. Paris was beautifull. It seemed way more historic than London. That, and the food was better. I stayed in a hotel where I could see the Arc d Triumph from my balcony. That was cool at night. I didn't stay there the whole time due to prices. I went to a hostel for the last night and stayed in a room with some odd German girls. Not very friendly types. I have now moved on to Normandy. It is difficult to find places to stay in these small towns, but they are definately more relxing than the big cities. Tomorrow I am off to see the D-Day beaches. After that I am headed to a resort town for a few days at the ... read more

I am wrapping up a few days in Bath and then going back to London to catch the eurostar to Paris. I was interested in going to Cambridge, but it appears to be a pain ito get around here. Maybe I will tag it on to the end of the trip. Doubtful though. Bath was pretty nice. Beautiful countryside in a quaint little town. Nice church, nice architecture. I met some cool aussies who are just finishing their holiday. The guy wants to come to vegas and get married by elvis. Crazy. The hostel was blah, but what do you expect for $15 a night. I didn't spend too much money here, so hopefully that will make up for geting price gouged in London. I hear Paris is expensive as well. Maybe I'll rush through the ... read more

Today was my first real day of doing stuff. Yesterday I spent jetlagged and drinking with new friends watching the USA game and then the England game. It almost makes you want to like soccer/futbol. Sidenote: I know we don't really care about soccer, but the least we could do is come up with drinking songs for when the world cup is on. Today I did one of those insane walking tours. I basically saw what you come here to see in one day. I will wander around for the next few days before I move on to Bath. The hostel I chose turned out to be a crazy place. Either I am old or foreign people regularly do stuff to strangers that I haven't done since living in a fraternity house. I took some pictures ... read more
