Learning Hi,
I happened on your site while looking for snakes in Zion. I live near Saint George, Utah and have easy access to all the canyons. I enjoyed your views, your descriptions and thoughts and learned about a few places that I have not visited yet, as in, Corkscrew Canyon. I wanted to continue reading but it turned into another language. Thank you for a well written article about your trip to our beautiful spot in the world.
Dangerous activities These take me back to the last time I was in the Whitsundays, when I got stung by a stingray on Daydream Island. It was the most painful thing that has ever happened to me (and that includes childbirth)! Serves me right for stepping on it. Avoid paddling at all costs!
Had to sit with my foot in a bucket of red hot water most of the day, as soon as it got tepid the pain would start again.
Que envidia Este viaje si que me da envidia. Que chulo todos los animalitos que habeis visto debajo del mar y en tierra (menos la culebra!)
A ver en cuanto pasen 15 agnos me llevo a las peques alli.
Good old Google FANTASTIC pictures as alway Mark and Maria but the Google Map is AMAZING what a great way to see LV (although easier if you have been there before), I can't believe the detail. Great end to USA looking forward to tales from Down Under
Keep it up!
Cathryn
Death Valley Isn't it just amazing. When I stepped out of the car the blast of heat was just like when you open the oven door!! When we drove through a running race was going on - with all the participants dressed head to foot in white boiler suits to try and detract the heat. MADNESS!!!
Beautiful I've only been to Banff/Lake Louise for the skiing, but your pics totally re-confirm my need to do a spring/summer trip to Canada too - I sooooo want to do the Orca boat trip from Vancouver Island!!!
Jealous! Seeing the beautiful photographs of Canada mad us feel quite 'home sick' to re visit Canada. We also spotted the Black Bear just as you did and he ignored us as well so don't take it personal. Definately a place to re visit with plenty of money. A Canadian guy in Vancover asked if we knew how to spell 'Canada' - so we did. 'No' he said it is spelt 'TAX'. Which goes to show they must have a Gordan Brown as well as us.
Going wild in the country Hey there, long time no speaks! Sorry I've not been in touch for a while but I'm still here honest! It's -0.5 here this morning, we did have some snow last month which was very exciting as you can imagine :o) Now having had a brief escape to the wild country, I shall get back to the all important, life or death situation of yogurt planning. Life on the edge and all that. Oh btw off to Barcelona at the end of April. Take care guys xx
Steps You're both looking so fit and well, it must have been climbing all those steps. The sun and scenery are amazing, even more so when over here it's just grey!
Border Crossing Really proud of you both for standing up to the guard at the border. If more tourist were as brave (and spoke Spanish as well as Maria) this kind of 'theft' would be wiped out.
scuba Hey, Mark, my husband had the same trouble with the bouyancy thing when we became certified. And we had a real life out of air expereince during our training. My hubby is definately not a fish -in or out of the water!
Hotel name Think it was San Martin, but not sure! From the square, walk down the street to the left of the cathedral, it's only one block down that road on the left hand side, not very obvious though! And not cheap, so if it's low season, DO bargain! For the balcony, ask for a room upstairs. And don't forget to take earplugs if you don't want the bells to wake you up at 5am! :-)
Hotel in Granada? Hi, nice pictures and even better adventure. I'm planing on doing something similar March - April. What is the name he lovely hotel in Granada with the beautiful roof patio! I think I have to stay there ;)
muy valientes I think you are crazy for doing something like that , but if you didn´t ,
I cant´t see it , thanks for the moment and keep doing the same
Well Done Well done on getting the chap reprimanded by the police - so many people would have just walked by and not said anything. Plus - it does make for an exciting tale to tell too! ;-))
Mark & Maria: the English-Spanish combo who got fed up with the daily grind. Quit the jobs, sold the house, the car and some other stuff going mouldy in the attic and set off in search of adventures. Our blog is written bilingually, no small feat. We hope our pages inspire you... or at least keep you entertained for a few minutes...
