ouch Hey Matt, how does the re-entry feel? Any Montana snow yet? Malia What on earth are the bites on your foot? Looks like elephantitis (joking). The rest of your life looks wonderful - excluding the bus rides. The bites are a reminder that little things pack a big wallop. Protect the breaks in your skin... you don't want to get a blood infection. I know I know.. " mom quit worrying. " Well big Puff Daddy in your palm isn't looking too worried so why should I eh. He looks kind of angry though. I love you you know. mom
probiotics? Dear tummy ache, have you found a source of good probiotics. If it goes on and on you might want to check out parasites. There are some nasties . I love reading your blogs and wistfully envision myself on your jouney - minus the tummy aches, rotten eggs, butt sores, robbery, mugging... it all sounds so great! What an experience eh. Mom
worry? Worry? of course NOT. After all, the boys did check to see if the gun was loaded. (oh, you feel that they were just trying to reassure Matt eh... how sweet of them) Well yes now Matt has a story to tell around the camp fire. I would hate to think that you took this whole trip and came home without a story to tell. So what else do you have in store. Let's see.... the day before leaving Malia, your parachute fails to open on your first (and only) solo jump. That was a good way to embark on this journey...just getting yourself primed for adventure. Then the robbery under your nose. Now a mugging in a hostel. hmmm. pretty tame ...but listen you two.. there is no need to do anything more dramatic ok. Travelling about South America is a story in itself and we will all be perfectly satisfied. Have a love filled journey. Fear nothing and love all. I send you both joyful energy and a bubble of love (the force) to wrap around you. (Malia, you actually made me laugh- a robber, three muggers but don't worry.) You are having quite the journey. keep the faith BLEEP Mendoza! So glad you both are ok. I'm sure it was terrifying but thank god it wasn't any worse. Take it as a life lesson and try not to let all this affect your outlook on travel. i'm sure it hasn't but it's good to reiterate. I am in awe of your courage and lust for travel and experiences. Have a great time in Bolivia!
Bathroom surgery You can take the stitches out yourself with a good pair of nail scissors. Just make sure to clean/sterilize them really well first - a match and rubbing alcohol are just the thing.
pictures? Did you get any pics? Or is there somewhere on this blog that I should punch to get photos? I cannot visualize you skiing in S. America. Need to see your happpy ski face. Dont have any internet to get on my skype. Will try as sooon as I get my computer fixed. Love MOM
Mancora... Hey, we have never met, but I used to be in a rock and roll band with your boyfriend, maybe you have heard of it, um, Just Bob? Anywho. Please spend sometime if you get a chance in Mancora. At the south end of town is Punta Ballenas, a hotel and a point break. I wouldn't suggest surfing it. But I would suggest to check out the hotel. A guy by the name of "Harry" lives there. Spend some time with the guy and listen to his stories over a Pilsen. Ask about a german hermit named Heidi. Spend an hour or two and hang with her. Both Harry and Heidy speak excellent English. Great surf in Mancora. That is the last of the warm water as well as you head south.
Safe Regards,
