Rainy days and green terraces Gorgeous terraces, thanks to the drizzle! I've seen photos of these same terraces, but dull brown in the comfy dry season. For me, the spring green photos are worth it. Congtats on your shoe holding out to the end!
Hi Tara! I'm cheating a little on some of my pictures, as one of my camera has a cool "vivid colors" options....makes the world way greener! Spring is the wet season in the North, so we were very blessed to have one beautiful day! And beautiful it was, indeed!
Time flies Was three years this month that we were together at TB's 10th Birthday in Kuala Lumpur, Peter. Your kids are looking good. Looks like a cracker place for a family holiday. Enjoy.
We have a very short stop over in Bangkok on March 1st, only a couple of hours.
Hopefully our paths will cross again one day. It is fantastic reading that Tiffany is now a diver too.
Hi! 1st March, I'll be in the middle of Africa....well...tiffany, not only a diver, but an advanced one with 50 dives....crazy to go diving with those 2....you can't even imagine the looks we are getting....smile!
Leslie and Tiffany are looking so grown up now Always nice to read your blogs combining family time and travel.
I hope you are well my friend.
I don't suppose you will be in Cambodia at some point this month?
No Cambodia this month... Hi, are you stopping in Bangkok? We are heading on the road again this Friday....for some little "out of the way" tourism....before heading back to Congo for me end of the month...
This can also be found here in Majorca as well, mainly in S'Arenal (for the Germans) and Magaluf (for the Brits), massive buckets of drinks with really long straws, which they proudly take back home with them when their drinking holidays are over: they can be seen at the airport wearing "hats" made of the drinking straws and sporting their sun burns. I'm always surprised to see people who would travel long distances just to get drunk when they could do it in their own cities... what's the point??
Yes I know! And they are eating like adults...and paying adult rates everywhere...I'm having to be way more creative now for keeping the trips going.....
Internet helps! Love reading your blogs. These days it is so much better and easier to communicate with family. We have reversed roles though, as both our sons live overseas and as a parent I can say sometimes the internet is just not good enough! A yearly visit is also not always possible. But thankful and grateful I truly am that the opportunities are there for our sons and at least we can stay in touch.
Thanks for sharing a bit about your philosophy of life... something I was pleased to share with you at our get together in Denver and further discussions on Skype! Your kids are in good hands. They know that no matter how separated you may be, they are always close.
And all this for free! I love when people see me with my computer on in a "holiday place"....than tell me why I cannot disconnect....simple...I could be in an office all year long...ad 2-5 weeks per year on "full holidays" without a connection...or I can be connected every day, answering my clients whenever/wherever...and you guys know what does it mean for my travelling lifestyle...Thanks internet! My life would not be that fun without you! And the world wouldn't be that small...for sure!
This blog is just short of 10 years old. We have now move to South Africa.
Why South Africa? Simple, great wine, great food, great golf and even more amazing diving! I will for once continue to blog from time to time about home. After all, this is just my fourth continent after having grow up in Europe, lived in Asia for twenty years, and even spent a full year living the life of Buenos Aires.
Come to visit....there is so much to do here! ... full info
