no snow for Christmas for you! I am sorry to learn about Frank's heel. That must have been scary. It sounds like you are meeting really nice people though.I love your pictures and that pink house is quite something. Vern and I had to be in Winnipeg last week. His Mom died. It was minus 31 degees.
I hope that you have good sailing and good fortune all the way south. Got any cheese left?? Hi to Ginger too, hugs, Linda
You've had a bit of a go at it! So glad to hear from you. I hope your foot will mend fast for you Frank! In the meantime, glad to hear that you have a lovely place to hold up for a while. Isn't it amazing how people are always there for you. Gives one a good feeling to be part of the human race! I just think it is so neat to be able to follow you through your blogs. I feel like I am there with you. Give Ginger a big hug for me. Enjoy your down time! Take care.... Toni
Hope you are getting better Chris and Frank....sorry to hear your latest news. Hope that you are on the mend, Frank. We were sitting on the porch of the Bean yesterday talking to Paul Mascaro...he said people ask him how long it takes to sail to Florida. His answer always is "as long as possible." That is good, I think! ... hope you are up and about soon. Be safe and warm.
Don't know why I didn't find this sooner. Glad to see your getting closer. I've been down in Largo Sound for two months now.Refurbishing a 27ft Hunter and living aboard it. Hope to see you at some point soon.
Lorne on the "Pig's 'Ere..
Wow! 22 stiches! and ouch! I'll bet there'll be some re-engineering going on up on that forward pointy end. Glad that Frank is on the mend...but what a bad thing to have happen. At least you are 'stuck' south of the 'ice line' and in a nice place. Enjoy the respite as well as you can.

An opportunity to blog Thank you for the update. Those who love you want to know where you are.
What an interesting way to meet new people. Definitely another chapter in your book.
Grounded at Carolina Beach What an adventure you are having! That anchor winch looks frightful. At least you can relax for awhile where you are. I was pleased to read of all of the people that have assisted you. It is a good world in which we live. By the way a group of dolphis is also a pod.
Heh Jude! We want to see your blog too. It would be quite wonderful. We'll be in Carolina each for a couple of weeks. Hugs to Jerry when you see him. CFG
Aloha Doesn't that mean "See you in Hawaii?" We really enjoyed our impromtu dockside holiday with you at Moorhead City. Since then Frank whacked his heel in the anchor winch. We were literally grounded and are now safely docked for a couple of weeks at gorgeous place in Carolina Beach. The people are terrific and we couldn't have a better place to be 'grounded'. Good luck with your chores and happy holiday in Colorado. Maybe Santa will have a nice dobro over there!
Thanks John Sorry I haven't responded earlier. We've had to stop at Carolina Beach, NC for the next 2 weeks, so we'll have more time for a good email discussion. If we're not too far away maybe you and Bama could visit. Take care. F
Aloha Hope you are doing well and going slowly. We sure enjoyed meeting you and getting to know you, Ginger, and your wonderful boat. Hope to meet up with you down the road some time.
We're hauled in Beaufort up Adams Creek. Funky place and we're getting our work done. We leave for Colorado in one week!

love the images and the sentiment. go merry wanderers you are an inspiration. Great when having an impromptu get together and swim in your amazing soft water pool with the art work whimzy and now open to all and everything that this watery world can bring you. You make me smile whenever i think of you. Hugs, Jude
Safe voyage Chris and Frank, it was so enjoyable to spend some time with you in Oriental! I have been following your journey and wil continue to do so. Frank, once I get my Christmas gifts finished, I will turn my attention to the pin and block wood prototype. Safe voyage to you...
WOW Progress & Adventure I am so happy for you. There is to be 5cm of snow Mon 7 Dec 2009 in Toronto,ON.

Look forward to seeing pics of the Christmas boat parade.

Thinking of you as the winds howled away last night. Hope you are safe and sound--maybe getting in some nice water today--really enjoyed our visits and will follow your blog and stay in touch.
love,
Bama
Thrilled for you I'm very excited that all this is happening. It's getting more and more difficult to just drop over and chat. Oh well. Maybe in January. I have friends in Yulee Florida so may come down and make it two visits.
Keep having fun. Miss you. Mike
stormy weather Hi, Chris and Frank.
Glad to know you were safe during the storm we had heard of. We thought you might have been off the New Jersey coast, and that would have been rough going. You sound like you are having fun.
We are still envious of your adventures. Your photos are very good and are putting us in a boating frame of mind.
Happy sailing.
Herb and Ursula.
From Portsmouth The large square boat is a floating barracks boat. When the Navy ships are undergoing maintenance the crew moves aboard the barracks in order to have a place to live but not be in the way of the work being done on their ship. I wish we had more time to talk about the ICW between Portsmouth and Wilmington, there are some nice places to drop the hook. Enjoy your trip!
New York Sounds like my kind of town! So wishing we were there with you. Happy to hear that you are safe. I hope you are keeping a journal as well; you will be able to write a book about your adventure and experiences. We are all well here. I have passed my candidacy exams and am now beginning to write my dissertation. It's Nov. 27th and we still do not have any snow. Nicole is worried she will come home and not have a white Christmas. We have assured her there will be snow by then. Marion was here for four days in early November and Mom enjoyed her visit. Until your next update, safe sailing. Love Dorothy
Great to hear from you Wow! What an adventure! Your trip is truly what they call "living in the moment". Love hearing from you and seeing your pictures. Can't wait for the next post!
Take care and enjoy!
Toni
Adventurers WOW! You really are having an adventure, aren't you?! I'm so pleased for you and looking forward to hearing more. Your experiences are wedging very nicely into all my travel studies these days. Busy making Christmas and New year rentals on the cottages too. Life is good - even if we are scraping the bottom of the barrel. I have no idea if I'm sending this public or private so won't say anything too incriminating.
I'm sure you two are just the right people to make the most out of every experience - great travelling buddies. And it sounds like Ginger is getting the knack of making friends while travelling too. Manhatten sounded great! Keep up the great work. Wonderful to get your stories! Love you - Elizabeth
History in the making Hi, These views are really interesting and you will probably see lots more history whiile making your own, too.
All is much the same here-no snow yet, for which I am most thankful. Take care. Miss you! Linda
With a crew of 3, Frank, Chris and Ginger Bear, MELODEON left Fraser Park Marina in Trenton, Ontario, Canada in 2009. Like many aquatic snowbirds heading south, MELODEON voyaged through the Erie Canal, the Hudson River, the Atlantic ocean and the Intercoastal Waterway until reaching sunnier shores in Florida and the Bahamas . 2011-12 is MELODEON's third cruising season, with the last two trips spent lingering in the sparkling waters and peaceful havens of Grand Bahama Island.... full info
