I wasn't going to say anything since you are the expert seafarers...
but you've mentioned that Naomi continues to experience seasickness. I'm also prone to this malady and recently discovered Sea Bands...wrist bands with a pressure point on the pulse point...and I didn't get sick. Your recounting of the Indonesians treatment of Alex reminds me of my childhood in Thailand where I was the only white child in the city or even the province. The little old ladies were always stroking or rubbing my skin to see if the white would come of. Congratulations on having completed a transnational crossing. I'm looking forward to reading about your explorations of the Indonesian archipelago.
