Hello all!! I know that I wrote a little bit about my trip down to Patagonia but I didn’t finish telling you about the rest. So here it goes: after Torres del Paine, we went down to Punta Arenas for two nights. At this point we were very tired from the hike and just traveling so Sunday we went to the airport, wanting to see if we could get on a plane that day instead of Monday, but we couldn’t. Our ticket wouldn’t let us switch, even though there were some available seats. We waited in the airport for about 3-4 hours and then finally gave up. So we went back to Punta Arenas and right when we got off the bus there was a lady who had rooms available in here hostel, aka her ... read more

Wow!! I just got back from my overnight hike, yesterday we walked about 7km and we did the same today. We were in Torres del Paine and saw the torres and it was pretty amazing. Going into the park (which was expensive if you´re not a citizen of Chile, but don´t worry I am!) it was pretty flat, like there were some hills and all but nothing compared to the mountains, it just seemed like they came errupted out from the earth, they did but just all in one motion, like they had to come out right then and there. The way they were shaped was just straight lines like someone used a ruler it was so strange and so outrages. I´ll post some pics later! But the hike wasn´t tooo terrible, but it did have ... read more

Hello all!! This is going to be quick, I just wanted I different city other then Valparaíso!! :) But I just got of my 3 day "cruise". Our boat used to be a cargo ship and still is, but then one day they decided to put some beds in and make it a ferry/cruise. But it wasn´t that bad until the second day when we got into water that was a bit choppy. And let´s just say I didn´t inheirit my dads tolerence to live on a boat. But after that night everything was all good. But tomorrow we´re going into the park Torres del Paine for a night, freeze to death (hopefully not literally) but then down to Punto Areanas to where we will catch out flight back to Santaigo. But I got to go ... read more

Hello all!! Well I got back from Pucon yesterday morning, we had a fabulous bus ride during the night, i got a lot of sleep...not!! But it was amazing down there, it is definatly one of the most beautiful places I have been too!! We left Friday nightand arrived Saturday morning. It was a 12 hour bus ride and on the map it doesn´t look that far at all! I could have gone to Colorado in that amount of time!! Anyway, Friday we took a little tour around Pucon and saw amazing waterfalls and mountains, I loved it!! Saturday some friends and I rented a boat and some fishing poles and went fishing, and sadly we didn´t catch a thing. Actually it felt like there weren´t any fish in the lake but we still had a ... read more

Hello all!! It´s been awhile but nothing really new has been going on. But I did start my classes this week, or at least half of them. My Spanish classes started, thank goodness, but my geography classes haven´t, apparently they start next week. I figured this out by showing up to them and having no one else but other gringos (it´s not a bad word here) present. But I think I finally have it down! But today I´m off to Pucón, it´s about a 12 hour bus ride south! But it should be a lot of fun, there are a lot of lakes and parks that you can go hiking around. And then my friend and are planning a trip down to Patagonia for later in the month. But when i get back I´ll post more ... read more

Well it´s now my fourth day in Valparaíso and I alreday feel like I´m getting used to things like not being able to flush tp down the toilets, which bus to take home and to school and I even think I may be understanding a bit more Spanish, maybe. But two nights ago I went out with my brother to a disotecho to go see a guy who is famous for singing terrible, kinda like that guy from american idol. The guy didn´t even go on stge until 2:00!! And finally at 3 I asked my brother if we could leave after the next song, which was the last song of the night anyway. That night I didn´t end up going to bed until 4am. They have very long nights here, they start a lot later ... read more

Wow is all I can pretty much say right now. I feel like it describes my my day yesterday or at least the afternoon. We left Santiago around 1 and ate lunch and then headed for Valparaiso around 3:30 and getting there around 5:15ish. I met my family and they are super nice my mom´s name is Monica and one of my new sister´s name is Laura. I haven´t met the only brother I will ever have yet because he was camping, at least that´s what I think he´s doing. But everything is different here, not bad but definatly different. We took a placement exam today and well let´s just say that I won´t be placed that high, but tomorrow we have an oral exam so we´ll see how that goes. But I think Monica will ... read more
