We are a family. This blog is a record of our fabulous road trip across this beautiful country of ours. We hope to capture all the ups and downs of traveling with two parents, one 3 year old little girl, and a crazy dog in one not-so-big car.

Driving Home - The story of how God provides! We woke up early on Tuesday morning, August 4th, packed the car, ate breakfast, packed up the kid and dog, said a tearful good-bye to our family and hit the road. The journey was pretty uneventful. The straps on our car-topper bag kept flapping, so somewhere in Iowa we decided to pull off at a rest area and have a look-see. Jon did his thing popped back in the car, I reversed, put the car in drive, gave it some gas and the engine just revved............I looked at Jon and said “something is wrong with this car”. We managed to get it rolling and it went into gear and off we went. It continued to do the same thing at each stop and we continued to get ... read more

Let's see if I can re-cap one month of vacation is one paragraph! We had a wonderful time visiting our families and friends in Illinois. Most of our time was spent in Elburn with my family. Lelah and her cousin Hunter played and faught with passion until the moment we left. Both now miss each other a lot. Another special treat was our newest nephew Max. He is such a delight and we miss him so much. Jon's family is doing well and we were so blessed to spend time with them, mainly helping Jon's sis Becky fix up her kitchen and vacation in Wisconsin. Lelah and her cousin Isaac were two peas in a pod. I'm going to let the pics do the talking and save our stressful and amazing trip home for another blog. ... read more

Custer, SD to Illinois!!!: Sorry this is coming two weeks late. We've been having fun here in Illinois, keeping very busy. Enjoy our last entry for the road trip! We started our day by pulling up to the infamous Wall Drug Store - which is actually more like a giant strip mall of shops along the main drag in Wall, SD. Since we wanted to make good time, we only stayed for breakfast and didn't stick around for all the touristy mumbo-jumbo. Although the coffee was, indeed, only 5¢ as advertised, it tasted pretty burnt and metallic as if they had somehow melted down the nickels you paid for it to make the coffee itself. The rest of the food prices were rather inflated, but you did get huge portions though, and it all tasted very ... read more

Custer, SD: We passed through the beautiful Big Horn Mountains and stopped off to see some neat waterfalls along the way. We took a southeasterly route after that and could just barely make out Devil's Tower on the horizon to our northwest as we entered the Black Hills area of South Dakota (see pics on last blog). We pulled into Custer around dinner time, found our little cabin at The Roost Resort, went and had a great dinner at Elk Canyon Grill and called it a night. Jon ate a buffalo burger and it was a little dry. We needed our rest because the next morning we were heading out to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse monument, Jewel Cave, and Custer State Park for dinner. Mt. Rushmore was really awesome, but smaller than I thought it was ... read more

Cody is a great little town. I have to say that the people, of both the state of Wyoming and South Dakota, are some of the nicest we've met. Everyone is super-friendly. We stayed at another Cowboy Village and our room had a great view. We went and had WY Mexican food. It was pretty good....interesting and very spicy. The next morning we set out for the Buffalo Bill Cody Historical Museum. It was a really neat place with exhibits on the old west, native Americans, natural history, and an expansive firearms display. We really didn't get to give it our full attention with Lelah romping around and getting impatient, though. We hit the road after that and headed for Custer, SD and for Mt. Rushmore. Much love, The Moellers... read more

Sorry for the delay on the postings. We didn't have internet for a few days. Going through Yellowstone in one day is not recommended. There is so much to see and do and we didn't see half of it. We started our day driving north through the Grand Tetons. It took us awhile to actually get to Yellowstone. At one point we were sitting at a construction stop and there was a rather rotund-looking slow/stop sign-holding guy. While we were waiting he actually put his sign down, went into his car, pulled out a small watermelon and cut it open on the trunk of his car and started eating it with a pocketknife. You had to be there I guess, because it was hilarious for us to watch him eat that watermelon while we waited. See ... read more

We are loving Jackson Hole!!!! It's a great town, with lots to see and do. We ventured into Grand Teton National Park (GTNP) today and I have to say it was one of the most amazing places I have ever been! We feel so blessed to be on this trip and to be seeing the majesty of our Lord! After a great nights rest, we started the day having breakfast at Bubba's BBQ, where biscuits and gravy were the house favorites (see pic) I managed to eat 1/4 of mine. After that we headed north into GTNP. We stopped at the cool visitor's center and then traveled to Jenny Lake. While driving we saw 4 elk (we think) and one sly coyote creeping across the road (sorry no pic of that). Had fun walking around. After ... read more

Had a great drive from Sandy, UT to Jackson, WY today. God's creation is so AMAZING!!! We are now settled at The Cowboy Village in Jackson, WY. It's a cute place close to town. We had a great dinner at The Snake River brewery. Looking forward to exploring this beautiful place. Lelah kept asking us when and if we were at Cowboy Village. At one point she asked "do they have candy in candy village?" and we told her it's called cowboy village and she asked "do the cowboys talk". We had a good laugh at that one. Enjoy the pics! Love and peace, The Moeller's... read more

Sandy, UT : Sunday, June 14th-16th Went to Calvary Christian, the church that my Uncle's family belongs to, and heard a wonderful message on walking in the Spirit out of the book of Galatians. We love going to churches that are ALIVE!!! You could feel the Holy Spirit moving in that place. We met up with my cousin Blake, his wife Julie and their kids Trinity, Eli and Asher. Lelah and Trinity hit it off right away. After lunch we headed up into the mountains. We went to Brighton and walked around a beautiful lake called Silver lake. It was amazing. There were these little chipmonks that Lelah insisted on chasing. She also had fun throwing snow balls at Uncle Steve. My cousin Brandy and her boyfriend Casey came over for dinner, we had a wonderful ... read more
