New York State of Mind Your blog has me once again in the New York State of Mind! O to be in New York now that April's here...could well have been a refrain by the Bard - had he been living in our times...Well well well. I am actually in London and its just a hop away. New york is becoming a favorite haunt of mine even if just to walk the streets!
Hey Laura, i started reading your blog because i wanted to learn more about japan before i go and i kinda got hooked on reading it! Damn you for distracting me at work but this was absolutely epic! thanks for a really cool read and hope to see some more from you soon! Greg
Hello! Where in Trinidad did you stay? How much was it a night? I really want to travel to Trinidad and Venezuela and would really just like any information possible!!
Thanks in advance!
ariba ariba loving your work Laura - although I'm not sure about being referred to in your last entry as "abba dooby wotsit" or whatever it was!
So are you in London Town now? And please can we have a reunion of Club Loser? Going by past experience, I'm sure that Spencer will turn up somewhere. Perhaps from under a coffee table, or he'll be in McDonalds tapping away at his brick and see us walk past. x
Hey! I am going to Trindidad and Tobago in 2.5 weeks and I cannot find any information about the ferry to Venezuela! I googled it and came across your travels (lovely photos and even lovelier man in the photos, lol). I am wondering if you can recall anything about getting to the ferry, the fee, etc... I'll be staying in Port of Spain. Let me know.
Love
Jeanne

Wow You look absolutely gorgeous, my love! I would kill for a boody like yours!
I can't believe all the extraordinary and exciting things you are up to! It sounds like you are having the time of your life.I look forward to reading your hilarious blogs when I am feeling burdened by piles of books and research - you cheer me up, although not so much when I hear about your accidents! I hope you are feeling much better now. And I am so glad Italo didn't turn out to be a scary serial killer! You two look great together by the way...
Enjoy Costa Rica, Chica!
And in the meantime, try to avoid worms and impossible MJ dance moves... :)

This is a nice blog about the Philippines and I'm glad that you liked your stay there. In the Philippines, just like in any other places, there are good eggs and bad eggs. You just have to be "street smart" in order not to get ripped off. Anyway, there's still a lot of places you can see and go in the Philippines. So go back and enjoy!!
you are having quite an adventure! hope you are feeling better now!
are you staying with the hot brazilian or are you two breaking up?
lots of love from cold europe,
jules
Hi Wow, it looks like you are having such an adventure!! What can I say without sounding horribly jealous ;-) Your guy looks as gorgeous as the stunning scenery. Are you like pinching yourself a lot?
Enjoy it, stay safe and keep writing these blogs - they are hilarious!

In between Travel Couple of hours sitting on the dock of a boat, all night on the floor of an airport, 8 hours of various cramped uncomfortable awkward transport.
Let me know when your ready to sail the Great Barrier Reef!
Western tropical culture is sometimes worth the expense :) Stay safe and keep on enjoying the good bits! x
There is a ferry! I visited a friend of mine in Trinidad last year who sailed over from the UK. I came from Tobago by boat, straining desperately to see Venezuela only seven miles away. Everybody was sick on the boat, and I didn't see even a glimpse of Venezuela. And now I find there's a ferry! Poo! I'll do it next time..
October 07 - Friends, family and random people who stumble accross my blog: this is an account of my year away from the UK. I will be spending 6 months working in Tokyo and then 5 months backpacking across parts of Asia and South America. I hope you enjoy my stories...
