We arrived in the capital city of Laos after travelling through spectacular mountain scenery. The views were breathtaking! Vientiane is wonderful it has the feel of a city with a town like friendliness. Everyone is mellow, calm its probably due to the old temples, monks and beautiful sunny weather, not to mention the small population. There I took a related stroll through French, Scandinavian bakers to reach wat si saket, a Buddhist monestry. Visited the day market where I got completely ripped off - I wad charged $60 for a teapot!!!... read more

Sadness for the millions who died at the mercy of Pol Pot, anger because of his ability to do so and excitement for the incredible ordered chaos of the Russian Market! Oh and completely stunned by the magnificence of the Royal Palance...gold and silver tiles in the 30C scorching sunshine was an absolute treat!... read more

Today was our first day in Bangkok, an incredible city! Slightly reminiscent of the cities in India but with fewer people and less pollution. We had a busy day today exploring the temples Wat Po and Wat Arun. They differed immensly yet they preach the the same religion...Buddism. Wat Arun was almost like a mini sky scraper decorated with the most intricate green, red and white tiles, absolutely stunning. Today we also met our tour group :)... read more
