Perhentian Islands and blog Love the blogs Kerri. We loved staying and snorkeling at the Perhentians when we were there last May. We also got to swim with the large turtles and black finned sharks and thought it just amazing there. Relaxing and beautiful. The Twin Towers at night looked awesome too.
message for Sharon Hi....Yes, Mt. Kinabalu was a highlight for me.....yet loved the other parts of Borneo and penninsular Malaysia......just arrived in Vietnam today and there is a feeling of familiarity even after 6 years....
You bring back fond memories from my travels Hi everyone,
Thank you for giving me this link to your blog. Your pics are great and trigger so many wonderful experiences. I am jealous of the trek you took up Mt Kinabalu...I simply ran out of time and would have loved to have see the morning sun from the top. A great photo! continue to enjoy your time. sharon
message for linh Yes, the vietnam acceptance letter came through today. we made a copy and now we can get the visa on arrival at hanoi airport along with $25 each and passport photos......yeeh! So happy
I didn't even know you guys were embarking on this adventure. Awesome!

Good Job Kevi mom, I'm so admired by your super accomplishment to the top of the world. Too bad, dad is not much of a hardcore hiker like you, otherwise you guys would make a perfect romantic picture up top. I totally agree with Gemma being a animals lover, still remember I was shocked seeing a 4 year old girl playing with a snake when she was in Vietnam. She has no fear, but love to all animals.
I will be awesome when Lucas can join you guys in 2 days. I hope the Vietnamese Visa application will work well and let me know when you finalize your travel plan to Vietnam, my family is thrilled to have you visited.
message for Heather and Rob thanks for your message...we miss you guys.....we left Borneo yesterday and we\'re in Kuala Lumpur waiting for Luas\' arrival in 2 days.....yesterday was a travel day. KL\'s a big city and a bit overwhelming, but we are going to get out today and see some sites........and maybe to a movie in the afternoon to escape the heat....Gemma will enjoy that. Just applied for our visas to Vietnam, so hope to go there in a couple of weeks. It will be so good to see everyone.....sending love
Way to go Kevi!! You made it to the top of the world! What an accomplishment. Gemma, I too would totally have fallen in love with that bunny and what an honour that they named it after you at the hostel. How are your iron guts eating all that diverse food Jeff? Looks like fun in that boat with the grinning guy behind you. Left a message for Lukas about a supper invite but no response so assuming he's fine. Will be nice to be reunited with him soon for you all. Missing you here and glad you are healthy in the heat and humidity. It froze this a.m. and the leaves are turning colour. We are doing well and loving the autumn mild weather. Have put the pellet stove on a bit and will need to turn the heat on soon! Off to read my book. Looking forward to the next instalment of your adventures! Heather
Hi! Just a quick hi to say we love you and are trying to imagine these places. We are well and looking forward to more pictures. I say \"more\" as I enjoyed Gemma\'s blog and photos. Be safe, Love Stephen
Hey guys!! Been thinking of you lots and wondering how you all are and your adventures thus far. Drop a line when you have a chance to breath and adjust to it all! Heather Lightbulb

In 2003-05 my family and I went to Vietnam where we worked and lived for 2 years. We fell in love with Asia and now 6 years later we're embarking on a one year adventure. We're leaving Canada in September 2011. This blog contains our travel stories, photos and some advice on budget travel with teenagers.
We're going to start our adventure in Borneo, then onto Peninsular Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Australia. We don't have a fixed itinerary and we are totally open to following adventures and experiences that come our way.
Our family consists of one traveling mom (Kevi), one advent... full info
