Today, we had breakfast at the hotel and we went for walk to Connaught Place. There is a market named the Palika Bazar in the center of this area. I brought a few Silk scarfs from the vendors there. After shopping, we came back to hotel and arranged a car with the hotel to go sight seeing around the city. We went to the Red Fort, Jama Mosqsic, Indian Gate & the Presidental Palace. Tomorrow, we will wake around 5 am and catch a train to Agra to visit Taj Mahal. I don't think we will have a problem getting up this early as we are still waking up around 3:00am anyway! We are looking forward to it. Here are some pictures from today.... read more

Day 3 - Dec 26 Well, I am sitting here typing this blog at 4:30 am. Our bodies have not fully adjusted to the Asian time zones yet. It seems we keep getting up around 3 am in the morning and can not go back to bed and at night we are getting tired and sleepy around 9:30 or 10:00 pm. I am hoping that we will adjust to the local time very soon. Anyway, we don't have much to report on Day 3 since it was a travel day. We left Varanasi around 3:30 pm and arrive at New Delhi around 6 pm and did not get to our hotel until around 7 pm. What a different world between Varanasi and New Delhi. New Delhi is a much more modern city. We took the pre-paid ... read more

Hi all, We are now in Bangkok. Yesterday (on our last day in Luang Prabang), we woke up at 5:30 am in the morning to give alms to the monks. This has become a tradition of ours as we try to do it every time we are in Luang Prabang. The wats are so much a part of what makes Luang Prabang special and giving alms is a bit of their traditions. After giving alms, we went to a small bamboo bridge that Anthony Bourdin walked accross during his show on Laos. We then walked around the morning market and then to a vendor's stall for nam kao (soft rice wrap with pork and mushroom) before heading back to the hotel to pack. After packing we climbed up Mount Phousi to take some pictures of the ... read more
