Can't though-Easter bunny scheduled for arrival tomorrow and we have a house ful. Al and Allyson Clendenning and Patty and Gary also here.. Am counting down the "sleeps" until I see you both-9 actually. Kisees and hugs -and Happy Easter!! XXXOOO
you two can write a book! You've captivated my senses and attention Ty! Do old people like dad and I do the backpacking, South East Asia trekking too? I can see your renewed excitement to get back in the 172, strap on a few missiles and guns and your good to go! As I continue to read, I can only think of the blessing your budding literary skills (thanks Kate!) and your love of history has contributed to a well rounded adventure. I really appreciate the time you have taken to share so much information on the blogs! They will have lots of shoe stores in Hong Kong Kate! Do you think Brian would have enjoyed the challenge of finishing the Crazy House? Don't you wish all the stories you read at South Kelowna were like the Elephant story Ty? I could comment on every picture and every paragraph, so enticing! Poolside at Louisiane, so inviting; the tunnels, so unnerving - maybe even the gondola ride across the water, but with VinPearl land at the other side, I'd do it! Kate's ankle, ouch! But what a blessing a doctor's office was right there and ONLY $50. (I do look forward to hearing your side of the story though Kate) Anyway, gotta run, we are off to travel the highways and byways to beautiful Alberta and will view our travels in a whole new light looking for Elephant Stories, Three Musketeers, Coconut Candy and Honey wine. Hmmm, maybe dad and I should start a blog? We had some pretty exciting stuff happening in Dallas, Texas last week and skookum hockey at Planet Ice in PoCo! lol
will you be able to re-adjust back in Canada? So beautiful, stunning and exciting! And what a story on the sleeper bus! The picture of Hanoi Harbour is truly beautiful and your descriptive narrative Kate touches all the senses. I feel a part of your travels! :) I want to know what the seamstresses and tailors made for you in Hoi An? After all, your carts were brimming and you left us hanging! haha I guess we'll see when you get home.......a full modelling session is expected of you both! Thank you for the proper pronunciation of Hue - was that due to my improper attempt at Laos (Tyler, you didn't need to tell Kate) "Junk" Harbour looks like the Shuswap in the summer and I am happy to say, I remember learning about 'junks' in school many moons ago when the word only had one meaning. Were there any critters in the National Park? Good location for a downhill Ty? Well, I have certainly enjoyed the blogs and can hardly wait to hear many more stories upon your return. Continue to take care you two and we will see you in a couple of weeks! Love and hugs!
Duong Dong on Phu Quoc Island Tyler......too funny! Thanks Kate, for making sure Ty didn't get too close to the edge of the waterfall! I am surprised he wasn't "cliff" jumping, just for fun! The warmth of the sun portrayed in the beach pictures looks so inviting as it is still sooo cold here. What a lot of history you have been exposed to on your travels - all of the stories are very much appreciated, but I tend to struggle with the pronounciation of so many of the cities and points of interest. Do you get to ride your own motorbike Kate, or do you have to sit on the back of Ty's? I think we should rent some scooters when you guys come home and zing around town! :) Looking forward to the next blog. Take care, keep safe, stay healthy and big hugs! Little tidbit updates.......cousin Luke left for Kenya (Africa) today for 2 weeks and Brie received her Team placement for her YWAM outreach this morning. She is so excited!! San Paulo, Brazil for a month, then Johannesburg, South Africa for a month following!
Hi Kate and Tyler....sounds like u r having a fabulous trip...hard to believe that you can be that far away and still run into people you know...totally enjoy your stories. I'm sure there are alot more to tell....have fun with Aaron and his crew. Have fun and be safe.
Sounds like it's been wonderful all things said!! Great to talk to you the other night but reading your blog and seeing your pics give us a better idea of what you're doing!!I think the little ''point and shoot"is doing a fine job!!! Hugs and kisses to you both.
Great Posts Hey you two - lovin the stories and pictures! So Cambodia next? Any plans to visit me in Hong Kong? How long is this whole trip gonna be for ya? Angkor Wat is next on the hit list I suppose?
How do we deserve another blog so soon? It's the pictures....they're stunning! I guess Kal Lake doesn't quite compare? Ty, I'm impressed with your photography.....a beautiful picture of Kate lounging on the beach. Did you get the names of the guys from Collingwood? I bet Kendra knows them! Don't worry about Tyler trying to catch the fishies Kate........it's the amusement factor of watching him try! I am glad you finally had some female companionship Kate, mind you it sounds like you may have had more than you realized at the last beach you visited. Tsk, tsk......see the sign was right! haha! Remember to check out Brie's pictures on fbook and ask her how she broke her toe! Hugs to you both. xoxo PS Happy Birthday Ali!
The pictures paint a thousand words but I enjoy reading the stories that go along with them! I am sooooo envious! You guys look so relaxed and TANNED - AH! It is so cold and blah here - the only one I know as tanned as you is Megan! Anyway, what fun! I am so happy for you! I am glad you are eating your fruit Ty. That is so cool that you met up with your diving buddies from Wales. Tyler, remember your roots, your Nana was from Wales! caea 'ch cega (pronounced sort of like ky d geg Is the only Welsh I ever knew - it means, shut your mouth!) We obviously don't have to worry about your safety Kate with your entourage of men surrounding you! You are making contacts and friends for life you two! But it's the beaches and crystal blue water.............ah!!! Enjoy! Love you!
Helloooooooooooo You guys sound like you are having way to much fun! Looks beautiful and sounds like you are meeting some good people, eating good food and getting lots of sunshine! Glad you are having so much fun and staying safe.
We are enjoying your blog and if it continues to be so interesting maybe uncle brad and I will get there some day too.
We will stay in touch, Love you guys!
Can I come and join you! ha-ha Wow! It sounds so wonderful! I am so happy you are having fun and I am so proud of both of you for achieving your diving certificates! 100% Ty? Take it from the water to the air and you will by flying - no pun intended. lol :) Thanks Kate for protecting Ty from the awkwardly long handshakes and what may follow! Anyway, I am glad you at least said you miss everbody "at least a little bit" Brie's last, very detailed and exciting email message actually included "i feel bad for saying this, but i don't miss home!!! Im really glad to be here." Her stories are equally as colourful and informative. We will continue to live through your words and pictures as we sit here huddled under the dismal low cloud skies of Ktown.......might have to go see Megan at Tropical Beaches for some vitamin D! Love you! Will wait patiently for the next blog.
im going to go quickly win the lotto. and ill be there when i collect shortly after i collect my winnings.
looks like your having a wiiiiicked time. dont do anything i wouldnt do!
Did you take a resume Kate? Are Cactus Club credentials transferrable? Not sure how much the Tai beer will aid in shedding one's winter coat? schmotorcycles?? Joanne!! Get out the red! Like the pics though.......... Take care you two - have fun! xoxo
Little change of topic.........Brie was guarding the "base" in Mendoza this weekend; watering the grass, feeding the ducks and pigs! Haha! She's burnt to a crisp and playing lots of soccer! She discovered today she occassionally gets cell phone service through Movie Star Network - it was nice to hear her voice.
monk seal Tell me more about these meditating monk seals, was it in awe of kates purity of vegetarianism??
I'm glad hawaii was quite fantastic (and that i found your blog of course). I'm sure your already flown away to your thailand adventures so i wish you health and happyness in the new year!!!
PS: thanks for the christmas card it warmed my heart! What a pleasant surprise!! I look forward to reading your adventures and living vicariously (i can't spell) through you both!! YAY for life!! Happy 2009 :) lots of love
Sincerly simone
are we having fun yet?! Love the descriptive update from Hawaii! - we look forward to equally informative blogs during your travels! The pictures are very much appreciated too! I'm sure Dave will be proud of you bud regarding safety first! I'm anxious to hear how you managed during the departure Joanne? :) As well as I did at Vancouver International? haha I had to do it all again 2 days later with Brianna's departure to Argentina, except she had to endure a delay due to a Bomb Threat on her plane at YVR, which resulted in missing her two connecting flights in Mexico City and Buenos Aires! Anyway, I am happy to hear all kids are safe and happy at their current destinations! All the best to you Ty and Kate.......we love you!
