WoW! Wow Kate!! this shit is awesome!! I'm loving every minute of it and wishing that I didn't have an advanced comp paper to write and have to stop!! but I LOVE it!! and I will for sure be coming back!!
curiouser and curiouser said the Cat Kate , I assume from your photos that you have some interest in spiritual development but perhaps not . I teach meditation and projection as a mystic for free . I found your photos while googling for prayerful meditation poses .
There is such syncronicity in our meeting today . I am much older than you . I am 50 years old and a medically retired school teacher . I live in Australia . But I was born Catherine Hilderbrand in Virginia USA .
I was called Kaki, and Kate , Katrinka , Cat and Kitty . I looked like you when I was your age . My eyes are also gray blue . My hair is your colour too but with some gray now .I feel we have a connection . I have 7 kids . Two of them my husband and I adopted from Ukraine . None of them look as much like me as you do , lol .
I am Catholic but I am a student of the world , I loved the Buddhist Temples in Japan . I worked as a teacher in Catholic , public and Islamic schools . I worked in the Islamic Academy for girls in VA where I learned about the Koran . I travelled a bit of the globe. I love the sea . I became a scuba diver and composed photo journals of my travels underwater .
Thank you for your photos , and for your light . Keep shining Kate :)
If you are curious , you can find me here at Astral Society

Also if you do not like me sharing the photos you have put online , let me know . I hope that you do not mind . I find them exactly what I needed to teach with today .
Namaste .
great blog! I'll be making my 14th, yes, 14th!! trip to Myanmar in a few weeks time. It's great to see these pics of Yangon in your blog. It makes me homesick for my adopted home and I just can't wait to get there again. Look forward to reading more of your blog on Myanmar. :-)
Mot Tram Pham Cham You have managed to capture the essence of Bia Hoi in pictures. Congratulations! I agree with Senti - travel journalism is your thing! Get your ass back to Asia ASAP!
Take care,
Rooj
Hi Kate Sorry your time has come to an end but Im sure this is only the beginning of your entire life-time of travels. You write really well by the way. You should consider travel journalism at college. Then maybe you could take over Joe "Dumbass" Cummings for the lonely planet..........
Hey Kate! On behalf of all Aussies, we feign offence at any suggestion that the target of our excavation activities is influenced by the American hegemony! The (land) area of China is 9,326,410 sq. kms while the area of the UK is 241,590 sq. kms. The reason we try to dig our way to China is purely because we tend to be a fairly imprecise lot (did you see the 2000 Olympics opening ceremony?) and have a much better chance of actually hitting China. And because we like a good pork bun.
Good to see you had a blast around Burma :) Relish the last leg of your trip!
HEY HEY HEY diggin the foot tan!!! maybe when you come back we can work on mines. I started craving the thai place today reading your blog, was gonna go by myself when what do ya know, va calls me and wants RICKY'S!!!! may have the priveledge of singing kareoke with michelle at a spanish bar. oh donda estada me llama gringa. i'll let you know how that goes. glad you get to see your daddy. please sing him purple haze for me, and tell him i listened to it all the way through friday and then he wasn't even there for me to show him my mad skills. so as of now we have taping date tickets for the price is right for May 30, and 31st, so the best bet would probably for you to fly out to SF then drive to and from LA with us, and you can stay for as long as you want with us
:-) I'm going to try and get some tickets for the June tapings as well.
Dear Kate, Amazing trip. glad you got to Burma OK and found the beautiful country you were hoping for. Locusts?!Take it all in and get on camera what you can to let the rest of us get a glimpse. Looking forward to seeing you in Bangkok! Love Dad
I didn't realize how completely much of a loser I am. For 100 percent real you are taking me to see "the world" so you can teach me how to be hardcore. Think seriously about Korea even though you do not currently dig it. We will stay away from Seoul and Pusan that is fine, but the countryside is supposedly completely awesome. Congratulations for being the awesomest person ever, do not die. Also do you want me to mail you pencils for when you go back to Vietnam.
Oh Katie! Reading these entries makes me sincerely, sincerely happy.
Your travel blog shall serve as a template for my own future escapades in 'Nam, someday soon, hopefully.
A++
Thanks Katie- for taking this trip AND for your reflections on it. Clearly you're soaking a lot in. Doubtless you're a wonderful representative of America! Please do be careful...
I envy you Hey Katie, sounds like you're having fun. I'll be going to Petra in three weeks, looking forward to it. Really enjoyed your description of the bus ride. I really have to backpack sometime. My way of doing it is kinda boring; I just live in one place and keep using it as a base. I really want to take a tour of a certain part of the world, with a stream of places, one after another. Take care. Benjamin
Love your honesty Hi Kate,
I've been checking out on-line the places my daughter is currently travelling in Cambodia and happened upon travelblog and your blog. I appreciate your sense of humour. Happy trails.

Hello! http://jimmiehbutler.com/Photo%20Files/Thailand%202000/magicgallery/8-25-2002-0083.htm
Katie, I love your blog! I just thought I'd include the above link to pictures of a site in Vietnam that is dedicated to my uncle who was killed there. I don't know if you'll be anywhere close to it, but if you are, I'd love a picture of you there.
Keep up the good work. Stay safe!
Love, Lisa
Hi Katie, It sounds like you are having a great time. Mayela says Hola(@OCHS)! She misses you (gringa) and so do we. Love your pictures, especially the one with the bong. Maybe you should intern at National Geographic next? Be careful!
