Munich I liked Munich too. Pretty much 6 weeks after you I did all the things you did too. The Marienplatz coo-coo thing is so lame it's cool.
I know you did Dachau too, which was a real experience for me. The history is powerful.
You can't fail to like Munich.
Ma and Pa? What fun, We're so happy that you ALL were able to get togther and travel. We're seeing your mom and dad in a few weeks, so we'll get the full scoop then. Love you Kaitlin, have more fun!
I've been waiting so long for these pictures of the family trip - I am addicted to your travel, and can't wait for the next installment. Since I don't get to see ANY of you often, these are fabulous. Be safe and healthy!
Nice-NAS! Hey, Kaitlin,
You definitely have that French scarf thing going on! Glad to hear that your time with Kari has been so much fun; I think I want to go live in the house where she is living--que sampa! I also hope that your birthday was a great one...Stef is going out with a bunch of folks tonight to celebrate Joe's 21st. Lotsa March birthdays (your dad's, too!)
It is a beautiful, clear-but-freezing March day here; I'm sure your mom told you that it SNOWED earlier this week. Only three hours to Nice--tempting when it's cold in Paris, I bet. Hope there are signs of spring there!
Bonne Anniversaire! Hey, Kait, I hope you backtrack and see this birthday wish!! Have a wonderful 21st BD...though you've enjoyed the perks of being 21 (wine, beer, sangria, etc) for about...oh, six months now! Your mom took Stef and I to lunch at BBird on Sunday; Stef is so excited about coming to see you! We went to REI to look at trip packs and other gear. Still dreaming of Turkey? You are going to have a great time with Kellan and your folks in April at the Croatian coast, too. What a great year you're having...Paris, the Alhambra, and Gordon, to boot!
True Blue You all look so damn cute! I love those girls! Way to go on the haggis. That's bold. This was a fun posting, KB. Looking forward to the Kari-Kaitlin-Meet-In-France one! Luff and stuff.
Te amo! Kaitlin:
Maybe Dad, Kellen and I should come to Spain instead of Croatia? Great story, made me feel a part of it all. Thanks for "my" picture! I hardly recognized that blue stuff in the upper part of your pictures.
Since I went to school in Spain, I loved this entry - especially the pope bundle. Salud, amor y peseteas y tiempo para gastarlos, an appropriate toast for Valentines Day. Love, Aunt Suz
Looked just Zarvalous! Hey, Kaitlin, it's the last day of January and I'm FINALLY looking at the photos of you and Jackie taking Paris, Strasbourg and Budapest by storm (and trains, planes and Metro). Gee, it looks almost as cold there as it's been here! Looks like there was quite a bit of snow in Paris from that photo of you in front of the Louvre. Budapest looks really different--more "eastern". It is so much fun to see you in your new native habitat, and your photos are just fantastic. You and your mom are intrepid, really covering a lot of ground in a short time; I'm impressed with your logistical abilities, and your mom says that your French is pretty darn good and you are navigating around avec beaucoup de suces. I liked reading about your cozy and delicious "food weekend" in the Belgian farmhouse...experiences like that can really change the way you approach such a vital part of life--the choosing and preparation of FOOD! Alice Waters started this way!!
Anyway, have a wonderful month o' travel, say hi to Kari and enjoy more food...hope Spain is a little bit warmer for you.
No S'mores? Kaitlin, we love your travel blog! It is so much fun for us to see you traveling and reveling in all of the sites and sounds and TASTES of Europe. We've been taught many of those same lessons by our Euorpean friends, every time you go on a new adventure we get to go with you and relive ours too - its a two for one! Thank you sweetheart for giving us this fun.
Culinary Journeys I completly agree with Mr. Patrick. I need to work on the Eyes. I can make a wonderful smelling and damn tasty meal I just need to bang out presentation.
Seriously though, come back to America.
vicarious joy I have loved reading your blog, Kaitlin and Jackie. What a wonderful time you had together. I have traveled along with you vicariously, and enjoyed reading both of your fabulous descriptions and seeing your terrific photos. Love, Candy
the duex of you May this be the beginning of a long life of shared travel, food and baths. You two look beautiful together. Jackie- thanks for making my mouth water. Now you have to cook it all- it's only fair. :)
Merci Thank you for starting my new year with your smiling faces, beauty, lights, good food and the obvious joy you shared. I loved the gargoyle shot. Happy New Year, stay safe and warm! Suz
I am studying abroad in Paris for my 2008-2009 junior year. I hope this is an easy way to keep in touch with the people I love and want to share my experiences with. Let me know if there are any problems or if you know anyone else who would like to be added to contacts! Also please write comments/notes back so I can hear from you too! Can't wait to post more!
