After rendezvousing with Benny, Ann & Joe at Gatwick Airport, we checked in and went through Customs and boarded our flight. The fight was quite scenic as we flew over the South East of England, seeing the white cliffs of Dover in the distance and then some wind farms just off the English coast. The French countryside was a mix of green and brown and lots of irregular field shapes. It took about an hour and a half as we had a tail wind and we were met at Toulouse Airport by a transfer service to take us to Carcassone. It was 28 degrees in Toulouse, which was a welcome change from the 16 or so degrees that it had been in England over the last week or so. The drive took about an hour (at ... read more

I have been lucky to meet some wonderful people last week, plus spend quality time with my friend Kathryn - also from Hervey Bay. Here are some pictures from my last morning walk after breakfast, plus my tutors and fellow attendees at our final session. We have had a bit of a shamozzle with our Ryanair flights as Ryanair has cancelled many flights in order to force staff to take annual leave. Unfortunately, our flight from Stansted to Carcassone was one of the ones cancelled, so I am now on a coach from Stansted Airport to Gatwick Airport, in order to catch a 2pm EzyJet flight to Toulouse. From Toulouse, we have to get to Carcassone, over an hours drive away, to get to our pre-booked hotel in Carcassone. We have a few days in Carcassone ... read more

Today, I have included some photos of the rooms inside the College - the dining room where we have all of our meals, The Sanctuary where we have lectures and services and other rooms where our classes are held. There are also a few photos of Shelley, Kathryn and me on our last night - having a drink at the bar. Our previous course finished after breakfast so as Shelley was leaving to go travelling with John, I have switched to a single room for the week. I had to take my luggage down to Reception and leave it there whilst the rooms were cleaned so I went for a walk into the village (Stansted Mountfitchet). My first stop was The Bean House, where I had a cup of tea and re-read my course notes and ... read more

Thursday, we had a guest visit by the trance painter, Jose Medrado, from Brasil. In a lecture through his interpreter Marilla?, Jose gave a talk on how to connect to Spirit, his personal background and then as he felt his healing guides were with him, he gave a healing to one of the students. When he was doing this, there was a very strong smell of ether in the air. He said that his guides provide this as proof of their being there. In the trance art session, he went into a trance very quickly and then started painting. His assistant prepares by laying out all the tubes of paint and utensils around him and he chooses them as he needs to. She quickly cleans them as he finishes using them and then replaces them for ... read more

This morning dawned bright and clear so today's blog contains some photos of our morning walk after breakfast. Shelley and I usually walk around the back lawn and along the lane into the village. This morning, we stopped to smell the lavender bed and admire the beautiful bees on the flower heads. These bees are huge! The lane into the village has fields either side that are so green and trees lining the lane allow the morning's rays to shine through...... read more

Saturday morning we slept in and ordered room service again (coffee, yoghurt and Eggs Benedict). After this, we relaxed until we checked out and caught a taxi from the hotel to the Arthur Findlay College (AFC). We dropped our bags at the AFC Reception desk as it was too early to check in and went into Stansted Mountfitchet for lunch at The Bean House and to get some shopping. ;-) We were given our room keys just before 3pm and came up to our room and relaxed until meeting in The Sanctuary at 5pm for our briefing. This year we are in Room 137, the Chichester Room, which has a lot more floor space than our last rooms so we are grateful for that. Sunday morning was about 7 degrees C and there was a thick ... read more

After lazing in our room for the morning, about 12pm we caught the hotel shuttle bus to Stansted Airport train station for the 50 minute trip into London. At Liverpool Street station, we came above ground and went across the road into the Railway Arms pub for a pear cider and some people-watching to break up the journey. About 2:30pm, we left the pub and took the Underground to Tottenham Court Rd and came up an exit right beside the Dominion Theatre. I was able to collect our tickets early, so that avoided queuing later. We had time to kill before meeting Jo, Shelley and I walked around the block a few times looking in shops and found a place to eat, Cote Brasserie in Charlotte St, which had a good Pre-Theatre menu. We settled in ... read more

The Emirates Lounge in Brisbane Airport is right at the end of the terminal, opposite the gate, so we sat in there until we boarded (directly from the lounge) at 2am. The aircraft was a 777-300ER, with a seat configuration of the 2 seats beside the window. The first flight to SIN was very calm and night time. The seats were very hard though and didn’t go completely flat so we didn’t sleep that well. Meals were Light Bites and I had pan fried chicken gyoza and Shelley had a wagyu beef pie. For breakfast, we both had cheese and chive omelette. We were half an hour late into SIN and had an hour and a half refuelling stop so we walked around the shops. We re-boarded the same plane and had the same seats for ... read more

It is currently 1:30am and we are sitting in the Emirates Lounge waiting to board our flight, which leaves at 2:30am. We left our houses around 4pm and the flight from Hervey Bay to Brisbane was an hour and a half late, which meant we only had one hour catching up with Abbie, Emilia and Sean, before heading back to the International Terminal. It has been a LONG day!... read more
