Last Blog Nov3 ? Hi Jessica&Julia,
Inquiring minds want to know how you are & what are you up to????
Are you still traveling or staying put for the winter? Steve & I are going on a road trip from here to Boston in a few weeks. Driving a car we bought for our son In Boston. We will be stopping in Washington,DC for a week . Then on to Boston. We will be gone almost 3 weeks. We are driving 10-12 hrs a day. We fly back . I think that will be enough driving unless we had mths to just stay in certain places for a while. Maybe someday!! Hope all is well with you & your family! Love Ya, Marla
wow proud of you gals. guess none of us should have worried at all about you two traveling the country. you seem to be doing quite well and seeing so much! even helping fellow travelers out with jumper cables. the photos and words are fun to see and read. I remember little curly headed Noah as a toddler! all grown up now. so living in Canada! Your uncle Larry and I would like to drive across Canada when we retire! you are doing it now!
Cheyne and little 5 month old Skyler will visit next weekend. Camille is in the midst of a long 6 week work schedule and won't be coming though they will all be here two days just before
Christmas. Her grandparents from Texas will be coming out to her folks so they will spend C Christmas with them. Naomi is coming this weekend and hopefully for Christmas too. we got a tree! smells lovely.
YOur Unlce Larry is off to surf in SD today. I could not fall back asleep so have been up doing work. so much I have set out to be done that I dare not think of the the whole list or I'd faint from exhaustion from the mere thought of getting it done. smile. One thing at a time, works best, I have found.
I have been thinking of your moma a lot and want to phone. I figure she works and sleeps weekends when I am not working. I do hope to visit them over Christmas. Lots of love to you two and dear puppy. You remain in our prayers. Love Aunt Janet.
Your Visit Hello friends,
I just wanted to say that we very much enjoyed your visit. We wish it could have been longer and that Amy could have joined us. We regret we didn't have you park at our house. Your arrival was truly a shock, but a truly wonderful one. So much went through my mind when I realized that the precious daughters of a dear, long-time friend stood in front of me. Flashes of the past and some very special memories flooded my mind. I remember holding you, Julia, a tiny premie; when you were too little to even diaper, as you were lying on just a pad. How tiny you & precious were! As soon as you and Amy were old enough to interact, you were friends. How I wish you all could've grown up in close proximity to each other; and I, close to my dear friend. (I miss you, Jenny!) We were at the hospital just after you, Jessie, were born. Such a sweet little blessing. Now, our four sweet babies are beautiful young ladies. God has indeed been good to our families. Thank you so much for making us a stop on your wonderful trip. You remain in our thoughts and prayers. May God bless you and keep you safe on your travels. Love and hugs, Kathleen (& family)
worth the wait Julia and Jessie you two certainly packed a lot of good times into your two weeks at Diane's farm.
How fortunate to have so many friends and relatives there at the same time. The rain that comes so often there is what makes everything look all green and lush. Jenny tells me that we had a full half inch of rain at home in San Diego one day last week. It was the first rain since April I think. Your pictures were all great. When you get home you'll have to tell me who every one in the clan picture is. All I can say is "wow" to all the food you described. Great blog, looking forward to part 2.
hi mounties glad you are safe and doing well. The countryside in Canada is gorgeous! Fun to meet "relatives" of
any kind! You are both becoming seasoned travelers by now. I pray for you often, and my friend,
Fran Eager prays for you faithfully pray every morning in her devotions. We both pray for your safety on the road, and that you both will see God in the beauty, order, and grandeur in His creation all around you, that you would not have an abstract, nor intellectual knowing, but a personal, life-changing knowing of God Himself through Jesus. Yep, that is our prayer for you wandering gals, always has been, and always will be.
I truly am planning on retiring this year, Lord willing, so will be able to keep in touch with you and your mom and dad more. I worked from 7 AM to 8 PM and later all last week, grading 150 quizzes, three sets of 150 projects, verifying grades and posting progress grades and doing school accreditation and Interact Cancer walk prep and Art Club drive-thru dinner ticket numbering and sales, whew! October and November will continue to be busy, school, travel, and baby!
Cheyne is coming the 8 and 9th with baby! smile.
well you will be seeing Fall colors soon. enjoy! Lots of love, Aunt Janet.
Following your adventures Hi Jessica & Julia,
Reading your blogs & loving all your stories! Ran into your Dad & he said you're in Vermont now!! Can't wait to hear more about your road trip! Just started lessons at reins this week. Has been very hot even in Fallbrook!!! Keep blogging and Happy Trails!!! Love ya, your friend Marla
. been there Yep, you were out in the middle of no where. we recall a drive through there, once for larry and once for me with family I think. check with your mom and see if she remembers it that is true or not.
You were near wheeler peak where there is an underground cave with caverns and all. You have to hike up and up and up. Naomi was in diapers and we would carry her some and some we made her walk with those little legs. I feel mean - now. smile. There are bristle cone pines.
Be careful with those cowboy and flirty types. I am keeping you in prayer! polite but distant is the mode to project.
Sorry to hear about the auto trouble. Hope all is well now. Try describing plants and we can look them up for you. or a photo! No international ride in Ely that larry knew about, but sounds like the town was having fun! I remember a large abandoned building in Ely, on the outskirts, an image that is persistent and not much else. smile. stay safe my dears. aunt Janet
wow thanks for the info on Rascal. I was curious. a good companion.
Uncle L took me to Crater Lake on our first trip north.
It was cold and beautiful. I ended up sleeping on part of the drive up to the edge of the lake. I slept with no snow along the road, and woke to look out at a wall of snow! the snow plow had cleared the road some time before and wow had left a huge wall that went way above the car as we drove along.
well you are having a great trip. Now that I know how to follow I will do so periodically. stay safe. love you girls, aunt J.
It was ingrained in my memory it seems.
snow lady wow! what artists! Rascal's first snow experience, huh?
That was an ugly slug in the blog before.
I used to be well-read on Fort Catslop..spelling...when I taught fifth grade I loved teaching about
Lewis and Clark. Often wondered if he was a relative to my grandma clark some way or another.
again your wording and photos are wonderful! Maybe there is a book- fiction or nonfiction- in the making. smile.
the slug uncle L and I have been to the redwoods and the Sequoia three times and your mom and I have been together when we were in junior high, I think it was. Once L and I were there with Rad and Bonnie and Rad's mom! I have photos of a skinny me walking with Fernanda. sadly not skinny any more. oh well.
I also have a photo of a bright yellow slug on a redwood log. It was awesome.
the aquarium we took our kids to the M aquarium many years ago before that big sun fish arrived. I just read about it. wow. big, huh? Our favorite were the exhibits of jelly fish. Truly this Aq must be the best in the world. Couldn't imagine a better one. I am enjoying each entry: photos and writing.
My laptop seems extra sensitive lately and jumps all over. sometimes I am typing and I can't find where the letters are appearing; sometimes they appear in the text above, but other times. . . who knows! so beware. hope this all comes across. I do try to catch the errors.
I feel uneasy that you have shown a photo of your vehicle. Stay anonymous as much as possible and stay safe. so proud of you adventurous girls! I am assuming that the doggie was neutered prior to the trip. . . or some surgery! He seems to be doing well though.
going to read them all just got a message from your dad with a way to contact you! He called during prayer meeting tonight. I am going to read all your entries then give him a call. think I will hold off visiting he and your mom until their colds are long gone.
Love your photos. You are two are good! Love the descriptive writing too! It is like I'm hearing the bear claws call me!
Oh I wish that I were with you. I am so grateful to have you 3 in my life. I've got sunshine on a cloudy day. When its cold outside I've got the month of May........ Take good care of each other. Have the time of your lives and keep blogging.

Road Trip !!! Hi Jess,Julia, and Rascal too,
I'm soooo happy to hear you're on your road trip!!!! I'm so Jealous!
We just got back from a 10 day camping trip to Mammoth Lakes. We hiked, Kayaked & fished. Our newest addition Lola passed the test & is quite the hiking chihuahua !!! Where are you now? I just read all your blogs & love the pix. Miss you both but this is money well spent and a lifetime of memories!
Greetings Rainbow Girls! Hi Julia and Jessie, I'm really enjoying your blog. Whichever one of you is writing does an excellent job with descriptions of our stops and adventures. Steve, Erin and I camped at the Redwood Nat'l and State park quite by accident and thought it was one of the best sites we have been to. We went a bit south right on the beach to Fern Canyon. Have you seen that? Anyway, FB Rainbow is missing you but we know you're having a wonderful time. I'm jealous! Take care and keep writing. Kathy
great blog! Hey girls, loved reading your blog! Would love to hear more - a whole year of travel, what an adventure! We envy you girls on your trip, and would love to hear more. How do you manage financially (did you get a gift, save up, do you have a weekly budget) and how did you plan out your trip (tips to anyone who would like to do something similar)? Are you going to hit every state, and how do you plan out your time to make sure it fits in your trip length? We miss you girls!
We're two sisters, Julia and Jessica, who, inspired by a similar jaunt undertaken by our parents, decided to take a road trip in a motor home around the country. We hope to visit all 48 continental states, and we'll be darting across the border briefly to visit our cousins in British Columbia. We'll be updating this blog frequently, so keep checking back to see where we are!... full info
