Geo: -37.8143, 144.963THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 9We got noticed that our excursion was changed from 9am to 10:30am. Meet at the Pier. Glenn and I had a relaxing breakfast in Versailles. Even though it was a very HOT day, I wore my long black pants since my legs hadn't completely healed. But they looked so much better. We boarded a Grey Line tour bus to take us through a quick tour of Melbourne. I especially liked the unique architect in the city. Very strange and unique buildings. The tour took us about 1 hour outside of Melbourne to the country side to a rain forest and a old steam engine train. I constantly thought of my grandson, David, who loves Thomas the Train. This was just like Thomas the train. The seating was very primitive, yet open air. There ... read more

Geo: -37.8143, 144.963TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 7I got up this morning to work on my journal, then I went down to Deck 8. Glenn joined me at 8am. An older man named Gary sat down and asked me some questions - how do you get here? What about this? He kind of had a negative attitude. Glenn and I then went down to the Versailles Restaurant and then Gary and his wife Elenor joined us. Gary's daughter works for GMO (Global Mission Outreach).Glenn and I went to the 10am instructions about the upcoming tours. At 10:45am, I realized that we had the Cruise Critic reception like we had on the previous cruise. I sat at the table where Beverly was. I had sent her several emails about the progress of our cruise. She is cruising with her mom, ... read more

Geo: -33.8671, 151.207Daily Journal - Cruise Feb 6 - 18, 2017I woke up at 3:15 just as we were pulling into Sydney. It was dark. There were many folks up on the top deck. You couldn't really see anything, but it was a good experience. Glenn and I came on back to bed until 7:00am. I really didn't get to sleep again, but Glenn did.We left our stateroom at 8:00am and went down to the Guest Services to get our new key card. We walked out onto Sydney. Beautiful day. Blue skies. You could tell it was going to be a HOT day. We decided to walk towards to Sydney Harbor Bridge. I saw the sign for "Bridge Climb". That is where you pay money to walk across the top of the bridge. That was on ... read more

Geo: -27.4676, 153.028FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 3We got up early for sunrise and I went to straight deck 7. There was a straight back chair, so I could sit comfortably and do my morning devotions and cross stitch. Glenn met me and we walked up to level 8 for O'Sheehan's Bar and Grill where I normally "park" myself. We attended the 10am lecture on Sydney by Peter. Then we ate lunch at the Versailes, and got there to be one of the first to be seated. We sat at the very back. We needed to be at the 1pm presentation that they had for us "going on the back to back" cruise. It was just a formative meeting about how our luggage will be handled especially since we are changing staterooms. We started talking to some folks from Atlanta. ... read more

Geo: -16.9254, 145.775Thursday, February 2This morning, Glenn and I went down to Deck 8 and had breakfast there while the ship was tendering into Cairns or Yorkie Nobbs Ship yard. I was able to do about an hour of cross stitching, before we headed to the Stardust Theatre to get our excursion. We got on a LARGE tender - Sea-Link to would hold 200+ people to get us all to shore. It was starting to rain when we pulled way from the ship. I visited with the Singer Coleen that preformed one of the first nights we were on the ship, and she told me that she flew back from Singapore to Sydney and got an email requesting that she fly to Darwin to do another performance. I think she will be performing tomorrow night. Nice lady. ... read more

Geo: -12.4613, 130.842Monday, January 30After going to bed late, like nearly 11pm, I woke up several times during the night. Glenn was sleeping so well. We just spent the whole day in our Stateroom. We turned the TV and watched the All Star game for the NFL. It hadn't been published, but we found it. We did not even get out for breakfast or even for lunch. After the game, I took a good long nap.We did get out of our stateroom at 5pm, to go to dinner and to see the Special show that night at 5:30pm. Very good show. Glad we got out of the stateroom. The day was beautiful as I saw a lot of folks getting a tan. After the show, we went up to the dessert place and ran into Norma again. She ... read more

Geo: -12.4613, 130.842SUNDAY, JANUARY 29I woke up and got ready to watch us pull into Darwin. The sun had just risen and we could see the skyline off in the distance. Beautiful morning. Glenn and I ate breakfast up on Deck 12. We made our way to go off shore. I was thinking about an excursion, but we decided to just grab a taxi.Once we got off the boat, we walked around the marina. I started getting a head ache. It was getting hot. Reminded me of the sweltering weather we had in Santa Cruz. Just so hot. We wanted to take a taxi to the wildlife park, but found that it was too far away. We did go into a 7-11 type store and Glenn used the ATM to get some Australian dollars. I also ... read more

Geo: -8.36369, 115.17FRIDAY, JANUARY 27This morning, I woke up and went to my normal location to cross stitch. The O'Sheehan's Bar and Grill. Everything was nice and quiet. Glenn joined me around 7amish. Glenn left at 9am to go work out, and I continued their in the booth, until 9:45 and I walked down to the Stardust Theatre for Peter's presentation on Darwin and Cairns. That lasted for 1 hour. Glenn and I walked around. Just before noon, we decided to go to the Atrium and sit in the O'Sheehan's Bar and Grill just to see what was going on, and maybe hear people's reaction and stuff. Well, there was a muty. The whole 4 levels were people "protesting" about the cancellation of the stops. One gentleman got people's attention and said they need to remain ... read more

Geo: -1.26, 116.83THURSDAY, JANUARY 26I woke up at 4:30am this morning, got dress and went up to Deck 13 to see us slowly pull into Bali. It is a "tender" port . Glenn got up and we went to Deck 11 to grab breakfast. He was suppose to call Norma at 6:15 and make sure she was awake. Then at 6:30, Glenn met Norma and got our Tender ticket - number 6. After eating a quick breakfast, we came back to our room and got ready to go down and get in the "life boats" to go ashore.Just as they were calling group 4 and group 5, we headed on down to deck 4. There was room, and we got on the boat without waiting for anything. The ride was about 30 minutes to the dock. ... read more

Geo: 1.28941, 103.85TUESDAY, JANUARY 24 - SEA DAYSo I got up at 5:30am, took a shower and left for the O'Sheehan's Bar and Grill to get a booth so I could cross stitch. I knew we would be crossing the equator between 6am and 6:30am. I wanted to see the dotted white line - equator. I had put a stickn note on the time to remind Glenn of our activities for the day. 10am - lecture by Peter; 11:30am - ice carving out by the pool; 12:00 - Equator ceremony out by the pool and then 2pm showing of Sully. I also reminded Glenn where he could find me.I had a very enjoyable morning cross stitching. Glenn appeared on the scene around 8am. He asked if Norma had found me.
