Hi John, Now you are talking my country. My Mom is from Edinburgh so have enjoyed a lot of the same places in England and Scotland. I wonder if Dianne MacDonald(Shelling) has heard about the brutality of the Campbell's. We are headed over to your Mom's tonight for dinner and I will bring it up. We are going over for a celebratory dinner for the extreme makeover we have just completed on a good portion of your Mom's home. She, and all of us, are so excited. It has given her a whole new outlook on living on Lee. She has even started playing the piano again. Her grand has now been moved so she looks out onto the Bay while she is playing. I hope you'll be impressed. Take care. We can hardly wait to see you soon. Give our love to Kathryn. Love Trish
Haggis cooked in a sheep?! Sheep's stomach, John, sheep's stomach! Our family loves haggis so much we stock pile them at Rabbie Burns' birthday in January and get excited all over again when we find one still in the freezer in Spring. In spite of being health conscious we admit to having a hard time shaking this traditional Scottish questionable 'food': sheep's 'pluck' (heart, liver and lung) seasoned with onion, suet and oatmeal. If you and Megan adopted some of the Scottish foods you probably could dispense with the long johns:)))) Shirley
Greetings V from Vancouver I do believe you will, upon returning home, feel confident to take groups of curious people (not so adventurous as yourselves to go alone) to all the wonderfully interesting places you have been.
I have a friend whose husband was transferred to Beijing and his Company is paying his apartment rent where apartment rentals range between $2-$8,000.00 per month.
Keep sharing. Shirley
Land of Living Hi John and Megan:
When I read your title, I thought you were heading home. Not a good time to head home, we haven't received any sunshine yet, still cool, drizzley, or cloudy. Also, the Canucks got knocked out of the playoffs in the second round. We love to read your travelblogs, so interesting, and we are so jealous. Enjoy. Love art and bette
sounds great Hey guys, LOVE reading your updates, gives me the travel bug to just keep going! Sounds very interesting, exciting, harrowing, exilahrating and fun, all at the same time. Glad you have each other, so you can laugh when things go wrong. Looking forward to seeing you in June!
great stories Hi John and Megan
Glad to see that you are having a wonderful time. I am always amazed how individuals can remember all those names. You are uncomfortable with the heat, while we are uncomfortable with the rain and cold. It was sunny today, but quite cold. Lisa is in Boston for the Boston marathon, this will be her 2nd time, they are predicting snow. The Canucks are in the playoffs, they won the first game 5 to4. They scored the winner with a few minutes left in the 4th overtime period. They lost the 2nd game 2 to 0. Sorry Megan I can't give you an update on the rugby scores. Enjoy, enjoy, have fun. Love Art and Betty.
Greetings IV from Vancouver Greetings from Vancouver, John and Megan! Your ongoing photo and writing journal continues to inform us in a unique way not possible through a guided bus tour. The fact that you are doing it in your youth is a reminder to me to urge my own young adult sons to do the same! Thank-you again for the discipline of journaling. My previous post was pending approval and didn’t go through but it was around the shopping for food on the rivers. It reminded me of boardwalks along waterways like the one in San Antonio, Texas and Venice, Italy. Matt had just returned from his school French trip to Paris and the Italian Riviera and had ridden in a gondola. We enjoy our own boardwalk along False Creek. We are planning a train trip down to San Diego enroute to Mexico in May just to slow our travel down. You are truly slowed down through the significant use of waterways. Keep sharing. Love, cousin Shirley
envy Hi John and Megan: enjoy your travelblog immensely. I am absolutely amazed at how you get around. I am afraid that we would be on one of those touristy buses. You are right to be doing your travelling now. Us old ones, wouldn't be so brave. I think I would like the hotel route. Very, very envious of your travels. Have fun, be careful, and see you soon.
Love Aart and Betty

from Vancouver, B. C. Thank-you John, for taking time in your travels to share your journal with us out there in cyberspace! Your photos are exquisitely beautiful and I enjoy the text that accompanies them. It is a bonus to meet Megan this way and also to hear after Jill and her new Austtralian family and what your Mom enjoyed.
We are home from running a 2 day Highland dance Open Competition at Magee Highschool. It was great to sit down and read your letter.
Happy travelling. Love, Cousin Shirley
