Well after 6 weeks of wonderful hot weather I am in London. I think it was 10 today! I arrived yesterday, it’s great to catch up with Sandra. Unfortunately my body has bailed up - I have the flu. I will need a holiday to get over this holiday. I have taken it easy for the last 2 days to try and survive the next week or so. The last couple of days on the cruise were a little hectic to say the least. Our little group of party animals (Kerry was calling us the Rat Pack) were going hard. It was lucky that we sailed for the last whole day so we just sat around the pools. I will try and attach a photo or two now that I have a bit more time ... read more

this is a quote we have used many times - please note the sarcasm!! Honestly I thought I would have a good time but man - life really is superb!! we went to the NZ game the other day and as per usual we flogged them. Yesterday we saw the true Caribbean style as well as the poms in fine form. The game was unreal - we had sensational seats and the beer was great. As you would all know the game was a corker! Now I am sharing with a 21 year old Sydney girl - not a coke snorter - thank goodness!! She is great value. Last night she did not come home 'til 9am. I am happy with her form! I was Cinderella and was home pissed in bed alone (that's for you ... read more

Central America Caribbean » Cuba » Oeste » La Habana April 17th 2007

Hola! Well I have survived Cuba as well. I have just had 10 days in Cuba, and as you would expect I hooked in to the Cuba Libres everyday. I have decided that I may be a rum drinker after all. It was good training for the next 2 weeks. I was on a tour with about 10 60 plus year olds. Entertaining but not as much fun as the last group. No near misses with flights anyway. In the group we had a duck who is a travel writer and used to write for Gourmet traveller. I liked her the most!! Cuba was amazing and most of the time I thought I was in a movie from the 50´s. Everyone talks about the old cars in Havana, I thought I would see a couple but ... read more

Well hanging out with these young chicks has given me new found energy. We are now in Brazil, but I almost had to stay in Buenos Aires.OUr last night in town was a Tango lesson and show, I got socially excited and we went out after. We got in at 3am when we had to be down stairs ready for a flight at 6:15am. We were also pretty intoxicated. Thank god the 2 brits banged on our door as they were heading down as we were still sound asleep. That was 6:10am. It was a bit of a rush to get our things packed. I even left my toothbrush behind so I felt very feral! Last night was an early night (mind you still managed a couple of beers) I think I was in bed at ... read more

Greetings to you all. Well we have finally left Chile, I was not such a fan to tell you the truth. We arrived here in Bariloche last night via boats and buses through the Andes. It was a long day of sitting around waiting, at least the view was nice. Bariloche is sensational, very pretty place, unreal steak (BBQs are pretty famous here), great wine, shit beer, very cheap and great looking men. I think I will enjoy my time here. A Canadian girl and I (with a guide) went hiking up a Volcano 2 days ago. We had a great view of the lake and surrounding mountains. However after 4 hours of walking, I thought I was going to have a heart attack. Luck the Canadian is a doctor. Anyway I told the two to ... read more

Well well well, I finally made it to South America!! The land of the Red wine has been very good to me so far. I have had several GREAT feeds and many beers (don´t worry I have taken photos) The beer here is pretty good. We went on a wine tour today and for some reason I found myself paying the extra for more wine. Only one other girl was keen for more so we sat in the bar while the rest of the tour waited outside for us. We were having a great time until Julio(tour guide) informed us that everyone was hungry and were ready to go. So we downed the last of our wines and went to lunch with the non drinkers. Now the people on the tour. Firstly my room mate, she ... read more

The count down is on! This is really a test to see if I have worked out this travel blog thing. Only 7 more days to go before I head off to the land of Red Wine! I am looking forward to drinking and eating my way around South America. I will be spending my first week in Chile - so I will certainly update you and put some photos up for your amusement.
