six nations !!!!! So glad you got to see how well you beat us !!! It was so embarrassing , I shall never be able to hold my head high again. Dirty play cost us 17 points plus 9 points missed in penalties, the shame......
Sounds like you are having a fab time! I would be jealous if I hadn't just finished packing for Thailand! We leave early tomorrow morning.
Looking at your itinerary I think we'll miss you in Phuket by about 3 days.
Enjoy Cambodia, Angkor is amazing. Look out for a billboard on the way ou to the main site that shows on one side life during civil war - a boy running away from a man with a gun, a lady crying in the street - and then as if a page has ben torn away, on the other side the boy is running to school, the man is helpfully pointing the way to a smiling lady - life now. Have a cocktail for me in the cafe d'Indochine!
Heat in Hue The heat - no sleep - lovely everything else - hope Valerie's feeling better - can't bear to think of the cats and dogs - my sister brought a dog back to England from a market in Hong Kong - quarantine at great expense, oh the western sensibility. Your blogs are amazing Val - thank you for them. I look forward to the book when you return. Yours in admiration of your intrepidation.
Is there an Arc de Triomphe here? So pleased you managed to find one. Wouldn't have been a proper holiday without! Sounds like you're having a marvellous time. It's freezing here, so you're definitely in the right place. xxx
:O :O Mum and moi would have loved to spend this experience with you Miss. Valerie! I Can't believe you got to see the production of silk and the dying of it, I would have been in ore! Mum is really jealous to be honest. She cant see me typing this other wise she would have made me delete that comment :P but yes she is very much jealous! And yes i hope the next time we step into your loving home that we will see that master piece :)

Bringing back memories... Please to hear that you are having a wonderful time so far. Hope you have survived that train journey. Should be somewhat cooler up there at this time of year!
Your writings and photos are bringing back many memories. The 'little India' area is called Pahurat Cloth Market and Au says that it is the best and cheapest place in BKK for textiles.
Have fun in the north...and keep those postings coming. They are making life for us on a dreary Jan day just that bit more interesting!
hello Hi Valerie and John just looking at your photo's.... looks like your having a fab time. We went to Thailand a few years back and it brings back great memories. Enjoy yourselves and have fun. xxxxx
River Hi Val and John - 30o humidity seems strange given how it's been here. All these different worlds going on at the same time ... and bringing back memories of when we were there ages ago. Hope your tour isn't too intrepid. Don't remember Thai whisky but I do remember something called 'Kickapoo Joy Juice' .
