Week 1 - Malaysia It would seem that the human body - especially the Anglo-Celtic one - finds the switch from freak sub-zero winter to scorching permanent summer a more than worthy challenge. However, as I write this, a reggae band has just begun their sound check in the bar next door to our hostel and I realise that I must not, however darn hot it is, grumble in the slightest. This first week can be summed up by a series of battles, some trivial, others tougher, but all helpful in acclimatising to life on the road. The trivial merit no detailed explanation (beef stuck in teeth for example) but others have provided us with tough, wrenching, soul-searching moments.
