Great photos of a great adventure We found your sea cucumber picture while we were reading a book about deep sea fish and then were captivated by your adventures, especially Easter Island, Thailand, and para gliding. I'm glad there are still so many exciting places to explore on this great earth. Cheers! From Katie (mom) and Elias (7 years old), Kingston, NY 12401
Well spotted! Sure would be! So, one way to put it is that Lindsey's uncle Gordon is married to Kenny's aunt Margaret. Or as I tend to put it, Lindsey is my cousin's cousin. Or just, Lindsey is a very nice person, and I'm delighted to have met her.
Friendship - a bit of fatherly philosophy Having a family interest of the kind that makes me worry about the two of you, I have to say that one of the things that has struck me all the way through your travels is the way you have made friends on the way; latterly Mark, and all year there have been people to help, or who helped you or just for extra company and boozing buddies. There was even a distant cousin in NZ who was annoyed to have missed you. We live in dangerous times, or so the news media would suggest. Does your experience show humankind is really ok after all?
Way to cool guy's ...Just surfin and saw this pic of you all on google and said "what the heck" started to read it and very impressed by everything. What was it like being there? it looked like you both had a nice time...Im glad you gave lots of discriptions about the place and details I too wanted to know what was inside of the joints...anyways one day my girlfriend and I will go play lord of the rings...great pics and everything...
Nae justice In Australia it's winter, right? In Scotland it's summer, yes? So how come Jo and Graeme are posing in t-shirts in the Oz winter and we have the heating on in high summer?
Wow That's it, Jo. The sailing - WOW! The rest looks great too, but I think you'll understand I just think the sailing looks fab! Do you think Graeme will be up for buying a boat when you come home?
Snow I was just a bit jealous of the snowboarding! I could just do with a few days skiing! Still, it is summer at home in Scotland, so there's not a lot of chance!
Snowboarding The North Island skifields on Mt Ruapehu should be open in the next week or so. They get pretty crowded during the weekend, quieter during the week.

Welcome to our blog! This was to keep family and friends up to date with where we were and what we were going as we travelled in 2004/2005. Sadly our travels are now over and we're both firmly entrenched in the rat race once more... but saving hard to fund our next trip :-)... full info
