I also packed a universal power adapter, a towel, a rain jacket, a sweatshirt, some flip flops for showering, some good walking/hiking shoes, extra clothes, a padlock, and my passport! FINDING A PLACE TO STAY For those of you planning your own trip the first thing you'll want to do is figure out if you know anybody. While staying with friends is not always an option they can at least steer you in the right direction. If you have no contacts the cheapest alternative, as you probably guessed, is hostels.
