Shopping, Shopping, Shopping!!!!! Diamonds and Furs were everywhere in this small little town of Ketchikan Alaska we were there for only a half day, but that was plenty enough to send me to the poorhouse. Today We arrived at Skagway, I wanted to rise early because I had booked a excursion at one of the eagle preserves, I grabbed the tickets to verify the time for the excursion and noticed four tickets for two different excursions on the same date...................OMG!!!! Well Here we are, I had a Unexpected Surprise that has me starting my travel blog a week late. Befor the trip I read on the cruise ships information page that WiFi woulf be available onboard, but I apparently didnt read the fine print. It was at a cost of .75 per minute and was also informed that the connection speeds at sea were very slow, so I had to make the choice of spendig all of my T-shirt money to keep you all informed or delay this blog one week, I must say I have a great collection of new T-shirts!!!! First I would like to thank the Grier family for today's internet access. The library here in long beach dosen't open until 12pm. I spent another day at my friend's Shep's house, where his wife kept trying to stuff food down my mouth all day. We spent the evening at his son's house where they made Carne Asada Taco's., OMG!!! Everything was freshly made and cooked to perfection, this was my best meal of the whole trip. It was a great evening, we sat out on the patio drinking beer and speaking Spanish to each other, there was just a little problem ............... I don't speak or understand Spanish, but hey, I just kept smiling and eating and nobody noticed. Early the next morning, I decided to leave and get a head start on the heat ... read more
