awesome!
great photography! what camera did you use? did you use in-camera filters?

Thanks!
I used the HDR feature of Nikon D7100. I wrote about it here: http://jayexiomo.blog.com/2013/07/29/testing-nikon-d7100s-hdr-feature. It's a bit on the technical side. But if you're interested in learning more about it, here's one site that I think explains it well: http://lifehacker.com/5991508/what-is-hdr-and-when-should-i-use-it-in-my-photos Personally I think I overdid the HDR in some pictures, since I'm still learning about the feature.

Spectacular!
Loved reading this and the photos are gorgeous. This isn't what I imagined a part of the Philippines to look like! Makes me want to go. :)

Exploring the frontier
Excellent photography. Wish we were out there with you!

Thanks! When you visit the Philippines again, you can go to Batanes, and if time permits, maybe we can accompany you. We'd love to go back.

agree
met that guy recently. he used to tie up with the dirty old lady (Raquel) who gave us the package. you're right he's very unethical man. i use to sit in front of the van but when the dirty old lady came, he hurriedly commanded me to sit at the back. at last i knew that they were lovers.

Yeah, I knew I would forget them as soon as the day ended so I always kept my travel journal and map with me. ;)

MAGIC SHOT...EXCELLENT COMPENDIUM
As I have recently returned from Cambodia I view with interest and memories your amazing collection of history and pics from the temples of Siem Reap...and sigh with relief that as there are so many temples...so many sights...that when I blog these sights I can add to the compendium of images from this magic spiritual place and not attract "Jay took that one"! Really enjoyed this blog and loved that you shared so many photos.

Angkor Wat

Thanks! I actually had to take down notes on every temple in my "real" journal. On my own I couldn't have remembered them all, especially since we crammed too much in two days.

SOLEMN REMINDER
The mention of the Killing Fields...your pictures. Reminds me of the feelings that are inescapable when in Cambodia...the gentleness and big smiles of the people concealing the massive sadness in all of their families by the systematic genocide by the Khmer Rouge.

I agree.
And I think it's what makes Cambodians all the more admirable.

Oh, those creative juices ...
Yes, flowing through your entire blog. You write beautifully, Jay, and like MJ, I'm waiting for your book. Can't wait to read more.

Fish cheese -- yum? Sounds like an odorous adventure. Liked the bit with the frog leg as well -- I find it goes well with ginger and greens. Great writing and looking forward to your next one. :)

I actually liked the taste of the frog -- tasted like fish. But every time I realize it's a frog.... :) Yeah, maybe I should've tried it with ginger and greens.

Off the beaten path
A thrill norry ride...you always find the interesting things to do. You should have taken the cooking class. Loved your opening and closing with the clock. Excellent writing! We are waiting for your book.

I just found out about the norry by reading other travelers' stories. Plus my guide turned out to be very helpful. Thanks. Maybe one day I'll be able to get myself published :)

Countryside tour
Fantastic photos and stories about the countryside tour. We really struggled with the smells at the fish market, but our timing wasn't the best - it was a hot summer afternoon... :)

Thanks. Yeah, couldn't stomach the smell, too. Same time as mine, though it was just after the Khmer New Year so the market was basically deserted.

nicely written
not sure if I can stomach watching this in person either >_< being a Catholic I'm not really a fan of this as the solemnity of what should be celebrated is often compromised and people often forget what the 'performance' really stand for. I'm sure most of them have good intentions but politics have also thrived in. It's becoming more of a circus to me, seem to be getting more and more commercialized. Thanks for sharing, good job Jay :)

Yeah, politics! I found it amusing that before the crucifixion started, the announcer had to say that the event was made possible through the benevolence of a certain politician.
