Laerdal, Norway was the birthplace of Warren's maternal grandfather and we made contact there with two of his cousins - Ingebrigt Wangensteen Gjerde and Kari Marie Gjerde. We spent three days in Laerdal meeting and visiting with these Norwegian cousins. Ingebrigt gave us several tours of the town and area including many old wooden houses in town, farms outside of the town, a trip to a Stave Church and even a 6 hole golf course. He invited us to his home to meet his wife Gudveig and family where they were so gracious and served us coffee and cake several times (the Norwegians really like their coffee).
