Miss you>O<
I also have a mountain trip in Lijiang, but i didn't climb up by myself, I went up the Yue Lung Xue Shan ( a famous mountain in Lijiang which coated with snow, Xue=snow). I went up there by riding a horse, it was so funny!!!! When I was going up, I saw so many foreigners climbing up the mountain!! You have to come to this place, coz it's really very beautiful here!!!!

Orthodox churches
Orthodox churches don't have seats: people attend mass (at least 1 hr) standing :) Love your blog - so interesting!

Hello, I loved your post!! We are actually in Dalat right now (my second time, i was here 4 years ago and did a one day tour with the easy riders). We met up with them again in our cafe and started talking about doing the three day tour to Nha Trang, it seems like an amazing experience and we're completely sold, I just have a question about the price you paid. Was it $65 a day each, or $65 for the three days each? I was sure our driver said $65 for three days but seeing your post is making me wonder. We're leaving the day after tomorrow, and while $65 for three days is a tad pricey, it is still very worth it for us, not sure if $65 a day is affordable for us though. Thanks again!!

All I can say is BRRRRR. I lived and froze in Canada for about five years when I was at boarding school from the age of 10 to 14 or 15 and I remember it well. Some of the hoarfrosts were lovely and the autumn colours spectacular, but I NEVER GOT USED TO THE COLD, PARTLY because I had noone to buy me the appropriate clothes...parents were in Venezuela with only contact snail mail which took weeks. However I survived. Debbie was just in Halifax, Nova Scotia and said she thought of me with no warm clothes. She wrote to me and her sisters and said she had tried on a beautiful mink coat and should she buy it. We all wrote back NO NO NO with varying funny remarks. She did not buy it even tho the shop assistant said it was made for her.

Coldest City
Dear Jennifer, you sound as though you are enjoying freezing your buns off in Ulaanbaatar. We have just had a big storm go through with masses of rain and weather forcasters giving dire warnings. I was cold (our boiler blew out in the wind) before reading about your exploits. Now I am really cold. Johnnie has sciatica which he is slowly getting over. He must get over it so we can go on our trip to Florida and then sailing. Much love, Bobbie

Hi Jennifer Realy cool. This was a place I really wanted to go when I went to Asia back in the late 70's, but at that time, it just wasnt safe for foreigners. Maybe I need to go again! Mark

I were with your trip.
Reading your notes here, as if I were with you in a trip. In the end of August I am going to Tibet where I hope is going to be your next destination. Have a good luck and nice trip to you all!

Like your blog
Hi, Jenny, I am very interested in what you have written about your trips and think it is a very good habit to do so after your trip. I have only took photos but never write something on my travel, I may learn it from you in the future. In Chinese, we say, one day to be a teacher, one life to be a friend. I do not only regard you as my student but also a freind. Have a good luck!

Dear Jennifer, Got the good news from your mum that she finished her degree and got a 2/1. I wrote and congratulated her. We are in Yorkshire visiting Meg, who is in good shape although she now requires a wheel chair when we go into town. We have a new car and I told your Mum that Johnnie does not take too kindly to having to put the folded wheel chair in the back of his beloved BMW!! We arrived on Sunday last and leave on Saturday. MUch prefer Brighton to Yorkshire. Enjoyed your latest blog and the photos. Bobbie

"villain hitting"
it's comparable to sticking needles into "voodoo dolls". there's a good english wikipedia entry on it. search under "villain hitting" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Villain_hitting
