To conclude our Peru travels, we made our way to the edge of Lake Titicaca (allegedly this translates in local language to something like grey puma, even if there are no longer pumas here). Puno is the usual place on the Peruvian side of the lake to launch onto the waters and visit the Floating Islands. These Islands, made of reeds compacted into 1 metre+ layers support clusters of extended familiesn (in the region of about 15 indviduals) and their collection of livestock (ginuea pigs, birds, edible children). Despite all the hype, the Islands and their people were fascinating and charming both in terms of the impressive construction and the warmth of the people.
