I am thinking of starting in india, thailand, vietnam, china, and then taking the transsib., and going to moscow and st. petersburg. I am a female traveling alone...any thoughts/suggestions? I read your blog, and your travels seem amazing. Thank you so so much.

Congratulations to both of you. Me llamo. Reading your blog has been fantastic my friend. When are you back in Scotland and how long for? Don't worry..I know you'll be busy! If we don't get the chance to meetup, buena suerte amigo! (:
I wish you and Rochy all the best and know you'll have a great time over there! (:
PS I got you message today. Thank you.
All is well at home and hope it's the same with you. (:
VIVA COLOMBIA!
Say hello to Rochy for me.
Take care,
Leon
Also tell your friend Indie I wish him all the best too. Even though I don't know, the part about him being normally very laid back guy and then losing it with hotel owner, over passports, really made me laugh! (:
I can truly sympathise!
Leon
Amazing I have really enjoyed reading your blog. You both have had an amazing three months together seeing various countries, experiencing different culture, food, climate, beauty and languages which will definitely broaden your mind.
I think you both should plan another trip together to Latin America or Africa or North India before you both settle down with your girlfriends.
I've liked it! It’s been fun to read your blog, to get to know Indie and specially to get to know you better. I think this has been a wonderful experience for you. And... I’m looking forward to seeing you. Te amo.
being ian priestley "- Decide to make time-specific, colour-coded list. Points include - 1. Make list, 2. Highlight internet cafes in Moscow even though we won't be there for another month, 3. Eat breakfast, etc... Then make list look pretty busy using bevy of coloured pens and highlighters"
hahahaha.
it's funny because it's true!
must have been the lovely suzdal churches which solidified your decision to swing by romania? they look so much like the suceava monasteries - or perhaps i'm just inclined to confuse all the onion shaped domes of europe. still enjoying all your missives - say hello to all the wonderful folks in ro for me!
Man, I'm really enjoying your Blog, it absolutely wants me to go on a similar trip. Keep up the good work and if you visit Saint Petersburg I expect an extense Blogentry ;)
Saludos
Natán
hi! I found your blog through the Kazakhstan blogs and I really like your entries on SE Asia, brings back fond memories and I'm looking forward to when you get to Russia!
Nice!!!! Hey Ian and Indy,
It's great to hear that you're still enjoying your travels. I hope that your blog encourages other people to be more adventurous when choosing a location for their own trip.
Take care guys.
back home well, for the first time since you left, the roles have been reversed, and I've done something that you'll be jealous of.
yesterday i was in london. more specifically north london, and more specifically still at Ashburton Grove at the brand new Arsenal stadium taking in the delights of Brazil v Argentina.
it was very special indeed.
supercool ian, your blog is amazing, phantastic pictures, you make me want to travel and see everything!!! nothing new here, make me happy and write more!cuidate guapo!
Brilliant and Exiting Dear Indie and Ian
Your postings and photographs are getting more and more interesting and exciting to read and see and sometimes I wish I was there spec ially when you have described the cuisine and shown phorographs of some of the things you have been tasting and eating. Even my colleagues at work find it very exciting and want to read all abour your experiences. We have been reading some of Indie's comments but would appreciate a bit more from him and see what he thinks of some of the experiences he is having. Keep up to it and have lots of fun ans explore as much as you can as you both have time on your hands for now. Keep well and take care. Bye for now. Looking forward to your new adventures.
Absolutely beautiful! Fantastic blog as always. Never known anyone who has been anywhere in Russia besides St. Petersburg so reading about your adventures in Kyrgyzstan is extra exciting to me! And I like the pattern I've noticed of you guys attracting little kids whereever you go! Keep those blog entries coming!
P.S. I like your beard!!
I agree with Rochy - your blogs are getting better and better and so are the photos. I particularly like the one of the intrepid travellers.
You are having adventures, and seeing and experiencing things that will stay with you forever and that comes across in the blogs.
Indie - I had never thought that way about people going to places like China to teach English - an interesting point of view.
wow!!! Hey there!
Been meaning to type a comment every time for ages so felt I'd better do it before you were home! Am loving reading your travelblog from over the summer, looking at the photos (yes the guy does look like Zach Braff!) and of course Indie's insights. Sounds like you've been having the most amazing time, though well deserved after uni no doubt! Glad you're enjoying yourself and it's fab to read about places noone else I know has been!
Laura
Nice one!!! This blog is getting better and better, every new entry gets more interesting and also it gets harder not to want to know what you two are up to, what’s being your latest adventure. Have fun.
fun china huanghua is a great choice to see the wall (we even camped overnight on it) and glad you got the DVD shopping in. you were really going to do 40 hrs kunming-beijing and 48 beijing-urumqi? trust me, after teh first 24 hours you get really bored -the plane is a good choice!
How you managed NOT to find McDs though... everyone in china knows it! Did you go to the stone forest, or stop off in xishuangbanna on your way from Laos? you really need to see some chinese villages, and not so many big cities!
hiya hello. An entertaining read! We'll keep checking your blogg page to find out what you are up to. My bro hasn't got back to me about the hostel in St Petersburg - sorry. However I'm sure you'll find it or somewhere else easily enough. Happy travelling. :)
