Welcome home! Hi Julie,
Mom and I have been going through the entire blog tonight so that she can give me the complete tour. It's fun to see all the photos and hear about all your adventures. I'm glad you had such a great trip.
Responding I hope you are getting my comments. I don't see them anywhere. Sally looks estatic in the cooking class photo. The food photo made me drool all over the keyboard. Ah to be a dog. Such a carefree life. I am looking forward to hearing about your conversations with Rosamaria.
Travel Log Julia, Thank you for including me on your email regarding your trip. I have really enjoyed reading and looking at the your pictures. I didn't know that you were a dog lover...
I hope to see you at our 55th High School reunion at Kennewick this August.
Sandy
Love Your Blog Hi Julia,
I'm all caught up with your entries and anxiously waiting for the next one. I'm so excited for you and can almost smell the rain from here.
Take care,
Lisa
latest entries Love the bathroom door signs. The table cloth the Mangiafuoco resembles one I have that I bought up in La Conner from a store called Sempre Italia.
Enjoying your trip with you Thanks for writing your blog Julia. I am totally enjoying it and it is almost like sitting down and chatting with you (although it would be nice to chat with you and enjoy a glass of wine too).
Sounds like you're having fun! I've had two phone messages from Mom, and she really sounds happy to be doing this trip. I love following along on your adventures. When I was in Milan in 1987, the Duomo was "in ristauro," all covered in scaffolding and closed to the public. :( Allora, non l'ho mai visto all'interno. I would show my cats the photos of all these dogs, but I don't think they would appreciate them. We've been having rain here, too, but then this afternoon everything was sunny and beautiful. Our apple tree is in bloom. It's a beautiful time of year to be in Seattle. Carry on! More adventures, please!
Catch up I am enjoying reading your blogs and seeing your photos. I should have warned you about the connection from the airport in Milan to the train station and also there are two different stations. The main one is horrible in my mind as it is all stairs you have to go up and down to get anywhere.
Sounds like you are having Seattle weather. I look forward to hearing about the roman ruins.
Ciao!
Great fun to read Hi Sally and Julia,
Like your tales and photos! They bring back a lot of memories.
Do you have any more details on the air B&B experience, or was it share/swap a sofa?
Diane
is that you? is that Stanley This is a thrill! Thank you Jules for taking Stanley on your trip! I am avidly following your adventures and my student will be so impressed that I have such cosmopolitan friends. All my love to you and Sally; I have just returned btw from a quick trip to NYC to visit schools for Isabel and as always it is quite a head trip to return. I love you so dearly! happy trails and I will stay tuned... xxoo marge
the blog was a treat Dear Julia,
When you read this you will probably be in Seattle, I am glad you got to go ,and will also be glad to see you at home base again.Be safe and I look forward to seeing you.I especially liked the lock you did for art.
Your Friend , Linda
I am so happy you were able to get to "old town" Bari. It is such a lively place. And, with a personal guide-even better. Now I have some things to go see if I get to go back. Did you see any women making orichiette? Anita
I'm making a 30 year anniversary trip to Italy in mid-September. I'm mainly going to Reggio Calabria, an area I've never been before. I want to see "I Bronzi," two incredible Greek statues that were discovered in the water off Riace back in 1980.
I was 40 when I went to Italy the first time, so you do the math on how old I am now. This is sort of a test to see if I can still hack it. The HoustonJulia moniker is because I live in Houston ALASKA.... full info
