That's my Boy! Our last great blog. Have so enjoyed them all and think you would make a good travel writer - humorous an all an all. But, only if you don't do no more dangerous stuff!! You will find it strange gettin back into harness again, especially in front of your computer. Bet your mind will be wandering to all the experiences you have had instead of on the screen. Don't know if I can make it on Sunday as I have the ironing to do but will be with you in spirit (gin and tonic that is). Will give you a ring when you have had time to shake out the bugs and get over the hangover that you are going to have after the get together on Sunday. Have a safe journey home.
Luv Mum and Tony
Mate it sounds like you are having a fantastic time, good on ya! I don't think that you get deluxe spots in heaven, class and all that! I am pleased to see that you are doing your bit for the wildlife though, very impressive. We are being battered at the footy by the way, we miss your defensive skills and look forward to your return. Thanks for the entertainment, keep em coming and enjoy the islands. Don't forget, loads of photo's please! Take care mate.
My poor little boy! I was feeling decidedly ill reading the last blog. I would have been the one that put everyone else in danger when I screamed and went insane inside the tunnel - even without the danger of the rising water! Always thought potholers were mad people with a death wish. Bet Nikki is really sad not to have shared your experiences in the caverns!
Bruised ribs, bruised bum but having a great time. Bruises will go away but your memories never will. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experiences with us.
Do take care, remember you are not as young as you used to be - what a daft saying that is!!
Love, Mum and Tony
Hello from Dreary Bunbury Hi Brett,
We're back from Port Douglas and I am in Bunbury now sorting out some property stuff. Sounds like you're having a blast. I think we;ve used up all our holiday dollars for a while now though :(
How much longer are you away for?
Cheers,
Terry
Nancy Boy?? You need to be careful using terms like that over there!! I will still follow the FOOTBALL but could be inspired to watch an AFL game with you on your return providing you explain what goes on and we can have beer. OK? Passed the test with flying colours, only half a point!! They have begged me to become a citizen in my interview and I have told them that I will consider their kind offer if only to get them to stop leaving messages on my machine. Can't wait!! Must be time for another party!! Gotta go mate, all this talk of beer, fun and relaxing is making me utterley sick! Take care and I will see you soon
Wot no plastic! When I asked you to take care of yourself when travelling, I didn't think it necessary to tell you to always make sure you also took care of the three other most important things when travelling - passport, tickets and credit card. What a Wally Brett. Bet someone has a field day with your card so hope you could cancel it and not be liable for any misuse. Hope the loss doesn't inhibit the rest of your trip. You will be walking around with cash when Nikki sends some dosh so you will have to be even more careful and keep it hidden. Don't want you to have to go home prematurely 'cos we will miss the blogs!!
I should cut down on the amber nectar and drink more water, though with the prices you are paying it is probably cheaper to drink beer.
I'm following your journey on a map and Tony showed Josh on his globe, all very envious and look forward to the next chapter of Brett's Odyssey.
Love from all the Poms and me.

bruise we want to see the bruise, we want to see the bruise, we want to see the bruise, we want to see the bruise................
How do you write so much???? Love reading your blogs
x
Sounds a trip of a life time, look after your self no more bruises!. Your new job should be a travel writer. We all send lots of love Dad,Lesley,Shelley,Kenny,Josh and Bailey
Plums! Please try to stop taking photo's of you with no clothes on!! I, for one, do NOT want to see a photo of your bruised arse! Not much happening here, but I do go for my driving test tomorrow and my citizenship interview, practicing speaking with plums in gob furiously and not missing out too many small words. Wish me luck!! Keep having fun mate.
Drug Dealer Hi, pleased to hear you are still enjoying your wonderful trip. We are certainly enjoying your blogs - they're great. When Shelley read your blog to Josh, he was able to offer some advice on dealing with drug dealers. He said, he would say "NO". "That's right", said Shelley and Josh continued with and then I would punch him in the face!" So there you have it from a seven year old.
Miserable weather here, overcast and not particularly warm, so much for global warming. We must have had our summer in April cos we haven't had many warm sunny days since then. Continue having fun but try not to damage your liver in the process - please. Bi for now and look forward to next chapter in your journey.
Much love Mum and Tony
Lucky Lucky You lucky sod Hodgie, I'm really jealous now. What a fantastic time you seem to be having. I am going to have a closer look at Phi Phi for a hodilay. Take care mate and keep the news coming. Try to avoid too much luv you long time, deviant! I'm sure the dead thing aint legal there either!!!
Yo Your blogs are brilliant, we are really enjoying them and feel we are experiencing your trip. Didn't know I could send you messages as at the start of the blog there is message that says in no uncertain terms, do not reply to this blog! Having read that you had had replies, I looked further and discovered this facility. Sorry. I'm afraid I'm still dubious with the internet system.
So pleased to hear you are really enjoying your trip and that Nikki was able to stay for a while too. Everywhere sounds so colourful and you bring the places to life. I pass them on to Shelley and Kenny.
Have just had a long weekend here and Viv and Richard came. Had a lovely weekend with them but the weather was dreadful, heavy rain and wind, the worst I think. We had a dinner party Sunday night with Anne and Bernard and while serving the desert, the power went. Lit lots of candles and it was lovely but stll no power when we went to bed or when we woke up. Tried to make a cup of tea with a fondue without success so Tony got the BBQ out of storage and we had bacon, eggs, toast and tea on the BBQ. The house felt cold so we went out for the day and had a nice time pottering around the antique shops in Rye. Fortunately had dinner there too as when we got home at 8 ish, the power was still off. They brought in a generator to use until the power is restored. A major cable had been damaged in the main road. Today I received an apology from the electricity company and offering £50 compensation. We didn't open the freezer so didn't lose any food.
Quite cold for May, we obviously had summer in April!
Look forward to your next blog - what a great system. Take care, tell those naughty ladies to bog off and tell the drug dealer you only eat prawn crisps and mars bars. Bye for now.
Much love, Mum and Tony xxxxxxxxx
love the pics of Jungle Jim & Jane Krabi is suppose to be absolutely beautiful, i was going to go over there when i went to Bali. Cant wait to hear what it is really like. You should write a book. How much time do you have writing all these blog's? take care love readin them x
Affirmative Captain I thought seeing you get to be Hodgie, I could be Tezza :) I vote for affimative action in all items. Keep the journal going, I enjoy reading them. Can you put Denice on your blog list, her email is denice69@bigpond.com Well sounds like you're having fun, adios muchachos.
Sigh I sit here in my sad office cubicle and receive these torturous messages from friends in faraway lands having beer and travels and monkeying around with real monkeys no less! It's terribly cruel.
Hello Hodgie Hola Brett (and Nicki if you read these), sounds like you're having a muchos grande time Hodgie :) Wish I was there. Do they have a towel along with the hose in the toilet, or do you air dry? Keep up the blogs, they are most enjoyable. Hasta luego, Terry.
2 O'Clock and all is well Good to see that you are having a good time, lucky sod! Keep the blogs coming and I will write to your email address as I don't know who has access to this info. Take it easy (or easier) and keep safe.
Im 35 and was born in Rhodesia. Lived in England for 22 years and Australia for the past 8. Its been 8 years since my last long trip and the feet are itching again - the doctor said the powder would fix that :) So here I go on a two month leave without pay trip around south east Asia. I will be accompanied for the first couple of weeks with Nic and she may join me again towards the end of the trip. First stop.....Singapore.... full info
