Asia » Nepal » Pokhara March 24th 2015

NEPAL After traveling around south east Asia for six months the intensity of the countries start to waver and what was fascinating soon becomes normal. I do not regret a single penny or wish I had done something differently, each country has a unique trait that you can love. Nepal is by far the best destination yet. From a mental city of Kathmandu to lake side heavens in Pokhara. I wish we had more time to explore this country but we need to leave some thing for our return visit. Dal Baht power every 3 hour gave me a terrific diet boost and I see why the locals love this twice a day every day, it makes you take on the world with ease. Getting about from the airport is a bit of a pain with ... read more

Asia » Malaysia » Wilayah Persekutuan » Kuala Lumpur March 18th 2015

KUALA LUMPER It has to be said that Kuala Lumper is the most chilled out city we have visited. The place has it all but the relaxed atmosphere is surreal. Make your way from the airport with ease using the smooth and quick rail service then continue the experience of relaxed times in a city that feels like a small town. Check out the China Town and the twin towers for some sites and truly enjoy this Country. It has many cultures wrapped into one nation and you can eat your way around the world with food from all the corners of the globe. Prices are more expensive than Thailand and Laos but the city really took me by surprise and I love it. If you can check out the Wakeboarding in the man made lakes ... read more

Asia » Indonesia March 14th 2015

March 2015 – Indonesia Indonesia was an unplanned stop on our trip to SEA. So after a busy week in Bangkok, Jakarta struggled to show any imagination and it just felt same same. The traffic was suffocating and it wasn’t until we found Golf, an aviary and wakeboarding we realised how much a country can be hidden. Indonesia is the 16th largest country in the world and has some of the most beautiful sites one can hope for. Asia » Laos February 12th 2015

LAOS Cambodia is my favorite country so far but Laos Vang Vieng is my best town. We have flown into Vientiaine from Cambodia Phnom Penh and stayed a few days looking at some culture and recover from the Malaria tablet side effects. No tablets from now on, mosquitoes are now a predator that could ruin our trip but the risk outweighs the Malarone stomach. Hitting Vang Vieng was exciting as it was classed the party central of South East Asia, but due to a Euro/Laos government strike it has cleaned up to a tourist hot spot with tubing down a river getting drunk, kayaking, caving, trekking, motorbike tours, off road buggies, jet skis, great food and lovely locals. My heaven. We were only to stay here 4 days but fell in love with the place and ... read more

Asia January 18th 2015

Traveling tips so far:- Packing- Try and take only 15 kg, I love my music so I have 3 headphones, Ipad, mp3 player, laptop, kindle, camera, speaker and a cable or charger for each. Get an Iphone or Smart phone with a big screen and boabs your aunty. There is no need for mosquito nets but I would recommend buying a sleeping bag as after we thought we would never be cold again in Thailand and giving away two bags of my clothes to local Thai people we hit Ha Long bay in Vietnam and it was freezing, we had to sleep with clothing over us as a cover, it’s the same in the east side of Cambodia, scorching during the day but because of the altitude the night gets very cold and a sleeping bag ... read more

Asia » Cambodia » East » Mondulkiri January 12th 2015

MONDULKIRI This is my new hideaway retreat, if I go off the radar and no one can find me this is where I will be. The most memorable place yet on our trip is the Mondulkiri Nature Reserve. The work they do here stems much further than parading some wildlife around, they are giving everything they can to preserve, promote and to care for the local wildlife. To start with I thought it was just some elephants but after the lovely owners taking with us one day we realised at how much effort everyone puts into ensuring the lives of all animals in the vicinity and the fight to dampen the illegal trade of Cambodia’s animals to china and Vietnam for medicine or trophies. The setting for this great escape is a few kilometres from the ... read more

CAMBODIA Executive Summary Thai islands, wake parks, kite surfing, motorbikes, chilling, dinning, fruit shakes, rum, endless beaches, buses and beauty leads us to Cambodia. From the Phnom Penh back streets and riverside to Siemp Reap Angkor Wat marvellous creations, back to Phnom Penh for connection to Shihanoukville and Koh Rong stunning islands, back on land to Kampot then again through Phnom Penh to Mondulkiri Nature Reserve then back to our second home Phnom Penh. Whatever you do, DO NOT copy our route hahaha. We have done the idiots guide to Cambodia but I wouldn’t have changed any of it. We have come and conquered Cambodia and sampled some of the best food and made friends with some of the nicest people ever to walk this earth. I love traveling and would encourage anyone to step out ... read more

Asia » Vietnam » Southeast » Ho Chi Minh City December 31st 2014

Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) This is the wildest new year’s eve I have ever had sober. Scooters are filling up the street from shop steps to the opposite shop step, no pavement is visible and to walk is to have eyes on the back of your head so you can dodge motor bike maniacs jumping up onto the pavement to try and get in front of the already heaving traffic that is slowly becoming grid lock. The time is 2300hrs in Saigon and the place is buzzing. We reach the park with the big globe and stroll towards the big speakers with the local music and stage. There is nice touch to the NYE celebration in Vietnam, families are sitting about waiting for the 0000hrs fire works and groups of friends and randoms are chilling ... read more

Mui Ne Beach Another sleeper bus experience from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) gets us to our Russian Village of Mui Ne. The place reminds me of Krabi in Thailand and has an Australia surfer town feel instantly as you look along the road as the bus moves slowly to its next destination. The day begins with 28 degrees and no hiding from a coarse heat that melts my Scottish skin even with factor 30 splashed everywhere. Kite surfing is on the agenda and as we make our way through fancy resorts to the sand we see the kite surfing mecca in full swing. The beach is long and slim, beautiful and exciting to see the long coast and 30 ish kites zooming around nature’s soul. Hotel Thao Ha Hotel 400 VND a night for a ... read more

Asia » Vietnam » South Central Coast December 14th 2014

Hoi An After travelling from Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Ninh Binh, Hue and then ending up in a beautiful place like Hoi An, we thought we would stay here forever. The Vietnam experience was starting to show its true colours and we were getting sick of the residents fleecing us at every opportunity. Even with the most genuine smile and chat the locals have a well-tuned knack for extracting money from your pocket for no reason. 14 hour bus tours with no toilet and the feeling like you are going to die with every dodgy over taking manoeuvre is not as painful as realising that the money you handed over to the nice guy at the tourist shop was double the price of the cost and the experience is shocking, don’t be a tourist, explore everything ... read more
