Asia » Thailand » South-West Thailand » Ko Phi Phi Don January 15th 2009

After our Visa run to Ranong (Boarder to Burma) on Monday, January 12th we went on to Krabi and directly further to Ko Phi Phi - probably the most beautiful landscapes in Thailand. However, a lot of the space on has been covered with hotels and resorts and it has become a little bit too crowded and too touristic in my opinion, but well... that's just obvious with such nice places. Especially the beautiful maya bay is known from the movie "The beach". The best is just to enjoy the amazing landscapes! Greets!... read more

We went from Bangkok to Chumpon by Train on Friday, January 2nd 2009 and by High Speed Boat to Ko Tao on Saturday. There we checked out a nice bungalow to stay (Chau Bungalows) at the West coast, a 30min walk south of Mae Haad Town. In Mae Haad Chris and I went diving for 4 days attending an open water course. Meanwhile Evelyne explored the Island. Diving was amazing, unfortunately we do not have an underwater camera :-/ Ko Tao is a nice, relatively small island. A paradise for divers, but also worthful travelling for people who just want to enjoy some time on a nice island. Then we went to Ko Phangan. We didn't like it as much as Ko Tao. On Saturday we went to the full moon party. In my opinion not ... read more

Asia » Laos » West » Luang Prabang December 23rd 2008

Vientiane at least has a good internet connection ;) So here are some pictures of our trip through the north of lao. We started in Phonsavan (Xiengkhouan Procince). Well known for the plain of jars, which are interesting but not that exciting (from our point of view). Ohonsavan is a bit touristic but not too much. The surrounding landscape is very nice. Then we went to Luang Prabang which is on the mekong river. Well known for its Temples. From there we went on by bus north to Muang Ngoi. This small village can only be reached by boat and is surrounded by a really nice landscape and carst mountains. After spending two days there we bought a small boat toghether with two other people for some 50 euro and started paddling down the nam ou. ... read more

Asia » Vietnam » Southeast » Ho Chi Minh City December 10th 2008

We started in Ho-Chi-Minh-City. A extremly crowded city with lots of motorcycles everywhere. Then we went on a 2days-trip into the mekong-delta, which is really nice to see (however, the trip was a bit too touristy). When we returned to HCMC we went on by train to Nha Trang, which has a nice beach, but we were not lucky with the weather. So we went on further to the north on a 20hours-train-trip to Vinh. A poor city that hasn't much going for. From there we went on by bus to Phonsavan/Laos, which was nice as it goes through the green mountains of Vietnam... Greetz HenC... read more
