Barcelona, Catalonia and Gaudi….. Actually, we thought we would be in Spain just about now….but as fate would have it….you know - the best laid plans, (the job of course)! So the the next best thing….Gretchen's blogs. You're a gifted travel journalist. Wish we were there. Unfortunate the Gaudi home is laid over in construction. It's mind boggling to stare at. Hope the rest of your trip to Catalonia is stellar. The best part of Spain are the tapas I think, besides the architecture which you have so aptly described in your blogs. Can you imagine….an uprising for independence in 2018 ! Keep it going!
Wahhhh! I wanna go Seville. Sounds like you’re having the best time ! But do they have to put cheese on everything. (laughter). Spellbound! Great read Gretchen.
Madrid Hi Gretchen and Kelly, sorry to hear about the pick pocket. :o( Madrid is a very nice place. There is a main street that has these very very large half hoops over top of it. Looks really cool.
Saigon What a fantastic trip you two......Gretchen you should write a travel book ! At any rate, you should write....you write really well. You are talented !
Train Hanoi to Hue We were in Hue during the rainy season so your photos are much prettier than ours. The trains in Vietnam are hit and miss for sure. Our train from Hue to Nha Trang stopped about 3 hours from our destination because the tracks had washed out. We sat for 31 hours on a very smelly train before we found a cab to take us the rest of the way. Still today I can remember the awful smells.
Kenya and Tanzania What a blast.....thanks for sharing the ultimate adventure. So many years of history and distance between us, but thankful that we have managed to be included in your wonderful journey blogs around the planet! Keep up the good work.

Great blog Hi Gretchen
I thoroughly enjoyed reading about your trip. It sounded like an amazing time and has left me with that travel itch, again. Welcome home.
