Dear Turan!
No pardon to any massacre of any nation. But it is a little hope, that one day world will be a more fair place. A very, very little hope.
Thank you for your interesting report and my best wishes to you and to your beautiful land!
thanks for your comment Vladamir. I also learnt later there is an Armenian diaspora living around Rostov. Unfortunately history is a fairy tale which is told according to what people would like to hear. What upsets me is in this tale there is not a single word for the Turks massacreed in the same era. Like there will be no words for the people massacreed in Iraq,Palestine or Afghanistan in tales that will be told in the future.
Hope one day world will be a more fair place.
Armenian claims of Genocide of 1915 in Azow State Museum You write: "Then I came to a saloon which in my surprise dedicated to the Armenian claims of Genocide of 1915. What is the relation of a local museum with these events? Why did they not have a saloon for the Muslim and Turkish population who were massacred by Armenian militia in that time? And if this museum is so sensitive to these issues, Why don’t they have other saloons for other massacres which happened in the world are still questions I don’t have the answers. "
The answer is: city of Rostow was formed by the merging of Fortress Rostow and Armenian city of Nachichewan. There are many small armenian towns and villages in Rostow region. The Armenian diaspora went from Turkey mainly in XVIII and XIX Century and a considerable part also after the genocide in 1915. So the memory about this event is still in mind of the Armenian population of Rostow region.
I found my guide from the hotel in the main square of Volgograd. I remember the name of the hotel as Hotel volgograd. Also if you call:
+7 (8442) 40 80 60 you may get through the company which would give you guidance.
Thanks for your nice comments Alan. Hope you will make it soon. Avoid being there in the first week of May it will be so crowded because of the celebrations.
Congratulations!
I envy you! I reading a book about the battle, and I`ve got fascinated by anything about it, specially the fantastic complex in Mamaev Kurgan.
Hope one day I can visit it also. Till there, I keep on apreciating your nice photos.
Thanks.
Alan
