Very sorry that you had such a bad terrible bus ride. I cannot imagine.. actually I am recovering from the stomach flu so maybe I can. lol Sounds like your time improved. Love George's new hat.
Thank you Thank you guys for such a nice blog's post, really. It was a pleasure to met you for both of us and a good experience of sharing cultures. I hope your trip is going well (i will follow you through the blog), y would like to do the same one day, going to these -i think- amazing countries.

LOVE ATITLAN It was so nice to see your pictures and here a little about your experience. Having made a trip to Atitlan it's always nice to hear someone else who appreciates it. Yep, mom and I had "Peter Pan" when we got off the boat in San Pedro who wanted to help us get a room but I'm a bit of a ......."really??? :!" type of person so I think he took the hint after that. Glad you guys had such a good time. HAPPY TRAVELS!
Thanks! We miss you guys! Hi Arturo! Happy Thanksgiving to you too! We´re glad to hear that you all had a great get-together for Thanksgiving. We wished we were there to join you guys! Congratulations almost being done and good luck on the thesis writing and your defense! Please keep us up to date and let us know when the big day comes!
Eva & George =)
glad to hear you are OK Hey George and Eva,
Happy Thanksgiving. I spent it with Eric, Aaron, Dave and Jenn at Jenn's family's house. Was much fun.
I am glad to hear you did not get Malaria or Dengue. Be careful with that water!
I am now writing my thesis and hope to gratudate some time in February or March.
Happy travels.
Arturo
Honduras and Nicaragua We met many travelers along the way who have gone through Honduras and Nicaragua with no problem, most of them single women., but we definitely understand your concern. The situation in Honduras is strictly political and we didn´t see any effects on the people, places, and transportation there except that it scared away the much-needed tourism in the country. We did however avoid spending much time in Tegulcigalpa, although rush hour traffic was hasn´t been affected one bit. As for Nicaragua, I didn´t feel like it was any different than Honduras. As with any large city such as Managua, there are safer areas than others. With common sense (i.e. don´t walk alone in the dark and listen to locals about unsafe areas), I think you´ll be fine. Nicaragua is a beautiful country and even though transportation was a bit rough in certain places (e.g. Isla de Ometepe), it is definitely worth a visit! =)
Where are you now? dear Eva, Since your mother gave me your blog, I read it at my lunch time everyday. Very interesting writing and remarkable photos. I am kind of jealous you, wish we could visit those pretty places too. Over all, you both love the nature, catch the beauty, endure the hardship, take care of each other, what a beautiful couple and wondeful trip. May God bless you and Love you. Joan
Safety concerns I am hoping to check out Nicaragua with a combined visit to Honduras (one previous visit) once the political confusion clears up in that beautiful country. Would be be wise to have second thoughts about Nicaragua, particularly as I would probably be going around on my own? We thoroughly enjoyed Copan and Roatan, and felt safe among the locals who (up to then - 2 years ago) appeared unaffected by tourism.
Next Time???? Next time you make it down to Honduras you should check out D and D brewery. Bob is the only micro brewer in central America and the Caribbean.
beef buckets Good to hear from you - thanks for the updates. Looks like fun. Pass on a "hello" for us back on "the Rock".
You may have to explain the beef bucket! (your average Seattleite doesn't store beef in buckets!)
Hi Everyone! Welcome to our travel blog! Eva and I (George) met at the University of Washington in Seattle and were married a couple of years ago. While dating, we discovered we both had an unfulfilled desire to see a little bit more of the planet and had talked about taking an extended trip. Shortly after our marriage, we started planning and saving for a year-long trip around the world. We departed for our adventures in August 2009, after Eva's graduation, and returned to our hometown of Seattle in October 2010. We had originally hoped to keep a blog with our photos a... full info
