Teaching in Thailand
I will be starting my venture to Thailand in mid September. My plan is to go over there, take a course to become certified to teach English as a Second Language...It seems that, that is what you have done too. What school did you get your certification through? I am currently looking at ATI...I haven't applied yet. Have you heard anything about it? If you were at another school, what is the name of it and do you recommend it? Also...did you have any problems getting a work visa? Thanks, Melissa

HOLY COW...or should I say DOG?!
I can't even get over Ms. Genna...I feel like you're living a fiction story right now. It all seems a world away...I loved reading your new entry. It seems all so great. I'm sure it isn't perfect and their have been some stresses and struggles, but you wouldn't be able to know. Everything you talked about seemed so wonderful. I'm so glad that you're safe and the program is a trustworthy program. And even better that you have made such close friends in such a short time. You and I both know that is like half the battle. The beaches and the bungaloo and the hotel look like a fantasy place...well everything but your crazy room. JUST KIDDING! Still looks better than mine. Hahaha. Anways, I miss you tons. I feel like it will only be a couple weeks unitl I see you again but I know that's not the case...it's so weird. I want to tell you all my stories and I want to hear all of yours. Can't you just fly home for a weekend and we can swap stories in the hot tub once a month. Hhahah.. If only my love. But remember to keep me in mind when you find out about your school and dates. It's time for this girl to get saving and looking forward to a trip of a life time. Speaking of, how are prices over there? Are you getting "bang" for your "buck"?! You and the motorbike story is no surprise to me. You're always soo funny...I can literally see you telling the woman blah blah blah I have this and then telling her later on that she might want to check the brakes. Too funny! Just be careful...I want to see you in one piece. :) I hope you continue the blog too; it's great...so informative and the pictures are awesome! As for me things are crazy as always. Had a blast at opening day out here in Milwaukee. Didn't get it too much trouble. Just got a job at Red Rock downtown on water as a bartender, shot girl, and beer tub girl. Orientation is coming up and I'm excited and nervous. Still looking for my day job though. The weather has been on and off...mostly mucky. Hmmm...what else to say. I think that's about it my dear. Oh wait and I'm doing a free yoga class this Saturday...I'll let you know how it goes. But anyways take care and I can't wait to hear from you again! xoxoxoxox All my love, Ash

YOU CAN DO IT!!!
Well Hello There Ms. Genna. First things first, I didn't think your blog was boring or repetitive at all. It was genuine and thought-provoking. You should be very proud of yourself for a) Deciding to make such a big decision/trip; and b) For creating this blog. This blog is for you first and foremost. Obviously, it's great for all of us back home to keep abreast of what you are up to, but really hun when you write these blogs I think it's great that you are writing whatever comes to mind and writing just as how you would talk. I really respect that!! I know I do the exact same thing and I think it helps the readers relate to what you're writing. Just wanted to tell you that in regards to our phone coversation last night. Oh and excuse my very formal tone, I just wrote one hell of a professional cover letter, so I am still typing in such a linguistic manner. HAHAHAHAH....anyways hunnie....I can completely understand where you are coming from with your fears and it's 150% normal my dear. I think it's great that in the end you tried to focus on what the positives of the trip are or will be. Things are not always easy, but how we react to each and every situation determines how we live and how happy we are with our lives. So good for you...Keep thinking positive!! Also, there is no way you will be a bad teacher. Like I told you before, put yourself in their shoes as best as you can and think about the fun ways you would like to learn with, such as flash cards, pictures, educational games, and the like. Also, know, that like all things, practice makes perfect. When I was teaching I taught some lessons that bombed and I taught some lessons that were incredible. Also, there will be times where you will expect something to go wonderfully and smoothly and it will fail. It is disheartening, but all you can do is learn from it and go over that same material just in a new way. Anyways, remember if you ever have any questions in the education field, I am more than happy to help. Let's put my college years to some kind of use...lol. Anyways, I'm jealous of you. You are showing everyone just how brave and adventurous you are. I know everything will be more than fine and know that your family and friends back home will always be here for you throughout your journey. I know that I felt a bit isolated from my family and friends while living in Aussie, becuase I could rarely contact them, but now with all these stellar technologies we can talk at any time, so we're hear for you Genna girl. Well, hunnie...I am very much looking forward to seeing you this Saturday...It's going to be a blast!! Love you so much!! xoxox
