Hey everybody. Today we went on a gorge tour. We went to see the mini gorges. The sight was beautiful. We saw monkeys on the rocks playing around too. There was also holes in the walls. In thoes holes were coffins. They were called hanging coffins. It was really cool to see. The reason why they hung the coffins or placed them on the cliff is because the people beleived that the higher they are the closer they are to heven. They also beleved that when someone died they would go to heven. So the higher the coffins were hung the closer they were to heaven. The coffins were pretty high up and some people wonder how they got that high. Some people say that the water was once that high and all they had to ... read more

Hey everyone! Hope that you enjoyed your March Break! :) Yesterday The train ride over to Yichang it was long but enjoyable. We made a few stops too which made it nice. It kinda broke the time down. Plus getting off went pretty well. It wasn't too busy. We met our guide, Helen near the exit. We took a car ride right to the bus stop. She said that we had to be on the first bus which left at 6. The funy thing is she didn't care if we ate or not. It was like a surprise that we needed to eat when Mom mentioned it. She said that we could eat at the McDonalds across the street. We had to be back by 6 though. When we came back Helen met us at the ... read more

Today was a stroll down memory lane. We went to the Pedestrian mall and into a market. There was so much to see. The girls bought candy floss and enjoyed seeing the many animals that were for sale, baby ducks, quails etc. The food was also very interesting. Everything from congee to hot dogs on a stick, from waffles to sweet tofu. There were people everywhere! We then headed to Jingfen Hotel where we stayed when we first met Parker. We dined at the wooden restaurant where we ate many meals during our first visit. It was then off to the Buddhist temple, a bit disappointing because we could not go up to the top but a nice visit nonetheless. We then finished our day out at the supermarket that we shopped at during our first ... read more

Today we took a cab down to Pedestrian Street. We walked down some roads and checked out some shops. Parker got a new pair of pants. And on the way to a store we saw puppies! They were soooo cute! Parker and I stopped to pet the puppies. They were licking and biting our fingers. It was cute because the mom tried to chase us away. But once you gave her loving too she was fine. I wanted to take a puppy home they were so cute. Who would of thought that there would be so many dogs in China? We also saw baby ducks. There were so many of them too. There were also some tiny ducks that were being squished by the others. Parker and I wanted to hold one but we couldn't :( ... read more

Hey everyone back at home. Hope that everything is going well :) Today we went to Fuzhou. Fuzhou is the area where Parker is from. It was exciting to see where Parker was from. When we got there they had a banner made just for her. Later on we went to see the kids. Parker, Dad and I handed out some candy to them. It was really fun and crazy. The kids lovvved the candy! They were all over it. I was telling Dad this. It was just like Halloween all over again. But this time it's not even October! It was cute seeing all of the kids. It was funny when there was this one boy who tried to take Dad's water bottle. He was grabbing it and Dad had to pull it away. There ... read more

Today is the day that we leave Shanghai. We took a 7 hour train to Nanchang, our next stop. Being on the train was really cool. And seeing the different houses. You could see rice farms and some cattle. It was really nice. If the train went through a tunnle you would come out looking at a whole new scene! You could be looking at houses then go through a tunnle and now be looking at rice feilds! It was so cool how they did their farming too. They had all of their soil patches layed out like stairs. When we got off the train we had a guide take us to our hotel. It was really nice that he met us when we got off the train because it was absolutely crazy in the train ... read more

Our second day in Shanghai was amazing. The sun was out and it felt like Spring. We headed to Yuyuan Gardens and it was a spectacular morning. We used the subway which a nice fast mode of transportation. The Gardens were packed. It is incredible to see how many foreigners are in Shanghai. Last time we were here, the foreigners were few and far between. The gardens are a nice tranquil spot in the middle of a very big city. We then did more shopping at various markets. Parker is becoming quite the shopper, she is loving the bargaining and loves all the different gadgets. Her favourite gadgets of the moment are her laser pointer and little wheels that fasten on to your shoes to make your shoes into wheelies. Shopping at the markets is a ... read more
