Monet of Wisconsin Hey Joel,
Love your study of the Blue Mosque. Reminds me of the Monet paintings of the gothic church in Rouen. Really cool to see how the light changes on the structure.
Wish So are you going to tell us what you wished for? Are you getting sick of all the traveling and eating wonderful meals all the time? Do you ever get any time to just veg out and do nothing? I hope my puppy didn't keep you away all night.
Sooo what kind of dog am I getting? Did you find a nice little puppy for me? I'm sure there were baskets of them all over the place. Just let me know when to meet it at the airport.
Expanded Menu WOW Happy to see you digging a little deeper into the animal kingdom for your meal. The lobster cakes sound yummy. The chocolate and hazelnut tort would be just my kind of thing. Do you remember the Ovens of Britany from when you lived in Madison? They made a Chocolate and walnut tort that I loved. There was one by Tenny Park that your parents went to. You were probably too little to have cared. Remember when Mark wanted Banilla ice cream and got mad cause he got "squirrel" (swirl)
Lost with a GPS?? Why not just follow the nearest sheep? I'm sure that would have lead you to your next meal. I think you might have a drop of wolf blood in you. How did you manage to choke down a chicken breast? You know, I heard MOOSE is good eatin' how about a nice moose burger. Bet that would grill up real nice and tender, slap some BBQ sauce on it. YUMMY. What about camel, have you ever eaten a camel hump roast? I wonder if it makes a good gravy? Just trying to think of the more unattractive animals you could eat. Oh Rhino Ribs, Wart Hog Stew, Yak in Cream Sauce, Poached Possom expand the menu.
I hate Sports I have always found the best time to shop is during the super bowl, no one is at the mall. William H. and I had a nice little talk about sports one day. We both felt the same boredom and total lack of interest. So I want to know what the trick was to getting dry socks?? And of even more interest, why were your socks the only thing wet? Will you be visiting the Queen? Oh if you get the chance you should say hi to those english cousins..oh what are their names, Colin and....I know I met them once very nice, I'm sure they eat lamb too.
At Last some Beef on the Menu!! Now were talking food...I'll fight you for some of that beef. I was beginning to think this was going to be the all lamb show, I wonder if Shari Lewis would guest host??? Nice to see someone else noticed your blond good looks and perfect teeth, we always say you're on the wrong end of the camera.
More Sheep So now you're taking pic. of them before you eat them?? Do you just hang your head out the window and chew on them as you pass them by? Poor little lambs. Did you have time to get me a scottish deerhound?
More Sheepies??? I thought you said no more sheep...the next thing you're stuffing mutton sausage down your throat....well at least it wasn't a baby lamb, I guess it's ok to take an old sheep past her prime and turn her into a tasty meal. Don't they serve veal there??? How about some chicken. Any new gossip? I wonder how Sally and Dustin are doing? I love Sally's new show, Brothers and Sisters. One thing that did puzzle me, why would Sally take a plane, She's the flying Nun, Ooh, maybe she wanted the extra time to just sit and talk with Dustin... must be it.
How's you Ankle? Thank god you didn't break your ankle, you know how brittle your bones are, It would be nice for you to be cute, stylish and injured again. But I guess it's more fun to have a cast when you're a kid. Did you taste any Whiskey? How are the lamb in Scotland. We got to bottle feed a 2 week old lamb yesterday. She will not be for eating, her name is Mary.
So was it a double Lamb burger? So are you saying Dustin and Sally are having an affair? How juicy. While in France would you pick me a puppy, a Berger Picard please, that's the dog that was in Because of Winn-Dixie. They are herding dogs, very hard to find in the US, but you should be tripping over them in France, get a light colored one if possible. In Ireland, of course an Irish Wolfhound is a must, there I don't care about color as long as it is a boy...or at the very least an irish coin with the wolfhound on it, not sure which one it is but I know it has the harp on one side and the dog on the other. I think I would more willing to eat the local food on your next trip. I hope you get to try spotted dick in England, Oh and Hagis in Scottland- that should be right up your lamb loving alley. I've so worried about Lynne sitting home all alone with no but Timber for company, I was so happy to learn she is jetting off to have fun on her own. Now I'm just worried about Timber, unless he's staying with Uncle Mark and the kitty. Nothing a greyhound likes better then chasing a cat. I think you should keep this blog up even during your regular time at home. I find it very interesting to know what you're eating and when you go to bed. Saves us having to have you microchipped.
Are you full yet? There must not be a single lamb left in all of Turkey. Where did you get this taste for lamb from? The only lamb I ever recall eating was the lamb cake Miller Grandma made when I was little. Now that was tasty! I have been to the Lamb Farms in IL where Joyce and Ralph got that dog Fang from, he was cute. STOP eating LAMBS!!! How about some nice veal, now there is some good eatin', those sweet little calves are happy to die in the name of a good meal. Have a safe trip home.
Ayhan, from Istanbul is with me. To have good Turkish food go to Haci Baba according to Ayhan, a woman I teach English to here in DeKalb. She also suggests you go to the Assk Cafe in the Kurucesme near the big spare market. Monday it's closed. Her son is working on his doctorate here at NIU. Personally, I think that you are eating too well and sleeping in great luxury.
Love,
Dad
Turkish Delight You better becareful eating that. You know what happened to Edmund when he ate it, you didn't get it from a white witch did you? If not you might be safe. If you see talking Beavers or hear sleigh bells I'd run far and fast.
Poor Mary...all her lambs are eaten Oh Joel...how could you, I can see eating Nemo, but lamb...they are so cute...if you see a flying carpet you have to buy it...I bet it would be more PC then the Papa Squirrel.
Turkey with stuffin' Joel, good to see you're putting on the feed bag again. I'd be willing to eat the roastbeef, but not eggplant!! I'm glad you're not being spoiled by the royal treatment and staying the same sweet and simple boy we've always known and loved. I'll be waiting by my computer for your next update.
Our Family Jet Setter You are just turning into an International Man of Mystery. Good thing you're so blonde and beautiful you don't have the terrorist look, but I bet you would bring a pretty penny on the white slave market. Don't go walking down any dark alleys with pirates. Count all your major organs before leaving- one good thing about going thru the x-ray machines a missing kidney will show up. That's neat about Turkey, now you and G'pa can share lots of stories. Time zone travel is soooo wearing, I know, we have to go into Mt. time just to get to wal-mart, totally throws us out of whack...
Eating like your MOM I fear if you keep up this eating you will longer be stylish...you'll have to wear one of those sumo diapers. It does sound like a great job. Stay away from those earth quakes.
