Green with envy Hey guys!! I am so freaking jealous! I know you guys are having the time of your lives. Enjoy it while you can. I drove by your old house the other day, and it made me sad. Can't wait to see all your pictures and see you when you get back.
Erin take care of your ruffian. Have you read any of the books yet? Miss you guys!!
I am just getting caught up on some of your postings. Great trip and great pics--you are doing exactly what most of us wish we could be doing! Erin is a talented writer (as well as a hottie). Tift Merritt has nothing on her. Enjoy!
remember the Dukes of Hazzard I still stand by "Cletus", which is how "Cletus" on that most southern of TV shows, the Dukies of Hazzard, spelled HIS name. Yall wouldn't want to tangle with Bo and Luke, would you? Not to mention Daisy. She sure could kick ass in those shorts and heels, like all proper southern women should be able to. Oh, Santa Fe! Envious, envious, and most envious. xoxo
Pedantly Cletus Sister,
A redneck dog from the backwoods of Arkansas does not care what the most "correct" spelling could be. All are in the dictionary, but for the red-dog, spelling should always be phonetic, hence Cleetus. Well, you shall meet him soon enough and then you can judge.
definitely Cletus Sorry, brother dearest...but Cletus is the MOST correct of all spellings. (Of course Erin is right, as women almost always are). This is from the true pedant, brain-child, reader of dictionaries, encyclopedias, and Susan Cooper series (note cross-reference to your "Stockpile" post). Sounds blissful in Santa Fe...keep writing to us all! xoxo Beez, Joie and your goddaughter Stella Rose Parthenogenesis (PS-she pulled up by herself yesterday! and says da da da ma ma ma tha tha and blows raspberries! brilliant.)
love the beard first of all...love the dog...love the blog. Cleetus with two e's seems to be most eye-pleasing to me...sorry Erin...you get to name and spell the humans' names. love to you all...
Cletus the fetus Little Anna was named Cletus the fetus while in utero, so we are partial to that spelling. However, maybe we dont want you to name your hound exactly after our daughter, so choose what you wish!
Eli - that is an awesome picture of you coming off your last flight mission. a picture is worth a thousand words, and i can see it all in that one photo. congrats again, and safe travels to you and Erin.
Zihuatenao.... ...I found it on the map the other day. Looks beautiful.
“I find I'm so excited, I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it's the excitement only a free man can feel, a free man at the start of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend, and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope.”

too much time on your hands (isn't that a song?) What's next basket weaving and tribal dance? Anyway glad you are having fun. By the way your other dog ate through Mom and Dad's cable line yesterday...
Right Around the Corner Hey Guys,
Enjoyed reading the blog thus far. Cletus has stolen the show. Just wanted to let you know I'm trapped in Albuquerque until mid-May. Please don't stop by on my account; but, if you find yourself in the vicinity, give me a holler - dinner's on me. (828) 318-4431
There are many comments to be added at this time! Hello Friends,
OK let me start by stating my extreme jealous, simply because you both are traveling and I am sure having a great time, even in New Mexico. Your travels so far do sound fun and entertaining. I am longing for a vacation as I read about you two. Is this the start of the travels? Are you going to Costa Rica soon?
Moving past my jealously...about the dog and the spelling, being that I am a reading teacher at the moment (but also a terrible speller, so take that into consideration :). As far as names go, all bets are off in the correct spelling game, I should know with some of the unique spellings of names I have encountered in schools lately; for example my personal favorite right now is a second grader named Essence Passionaah, yes that is correct! So in this case the long /e/ sound is made by ee, ea, or an e added to the end of a word, but these rules are always broken, especially in AR. So I say Erin is right, because she wears green dresses well and writes very witty travel commentary.
Ya, currently I do have a lot of time on my hands this evening, as Bryan is away!
I am glad you are having fun and exploring nature! Can't wait to see you both for the wedding!
