Want to go too! Hi John, great blog! My goodness you went crazy with the photos, eh? Confirms that I must travel to Cambodia sooner rather than later!
Sue
I may sometimes kill you. I read your story of Cambodia with pleasure thinking of your laughing in the truck. I know you have a good sense of humor. John, don't be too positive. I may sometimes kill you. :-) due to my frequent business trip even if I hope not to have it. Let's make our times the best 6 months together as teachers.
good information! You gave me good and special information about Ankor Watt, Battambang and Banyon. In the ancient time, the Cambodian had their own brilliant history. Now, Cambodian people live with happiness and relaxation. although the national economy is poor.
It is Good. I read your article and watch your videos. Thank you.
Hi Sue Yes, I want to go back! You do tend to just look up at the trees, shaking your head after a while. I am looking foreward to your blog updates also. It is now very easy to add videos also. I wish I had made better ones now. Good Luck back in China.
John
Next trip! Hi again, John! Sounds like you packed a lot into your short stay. Must make Cambodia a top priority for my next trip. Loved the old temple being "eaten" by that ancient tree! You're getting worse than me with all your photos!
Hi from Oz Hi John, great to see your new blog! I imagine you are "thawing out" in Cambodia by now! I am also enjoying being in warmer climes for the harshest winter in China in over 50years or more! Head back next week- not looking forward to the cold! Hope to be back on track with my own blog soon- haven't had a suitable internet connection.
Utimately, you visited Mungyeong. How was your winter vacation? As your blog seen, Are you still combat with your teenagers? soon or later, you will go abroad, to Cambodia to refresh wasted your mind and body with combat with your teenagers. I am refreshing wasted my mind and body with combat with my kids thru skiing. I already went skiing five times in this vacation. I hope you will get a good and fun time in Cambodia.
John in Nanchang Hi Tall Joh. Great blog. I would have thought the opposite of love is indifference? The weather there looks like the weather in Nanchang, China at the moment, as we too have had snow.
Hi John Hi John,
This is Charlotte, who you met at the Gyeongju workshop. Just dropped by to read your blog, and wanted to say how interesting it is! You've captured a lot of things about Korea really well...it makes me want to write my blog all over again!
I hope you are well and not too cold in this Winter weather...a little different from Oz right now I shouldn't think! Take care, and hopefully we can meet at some point in the future.
Great life you're holding Hi, John, thanks for always keeping me updated about your life in Korea.
To teacher and spend life in county seems more comfortable than in the city. You're taking more beautiful photos and having more private time to enjoy, organize and record the drips and draps.
About the 5-10 pages long article the school leader asked, I'm pretty pretty sure you can hand over a very satisfying paper to him, just like writing on ur blog!Or, you may just show him your wonderful blog. PS: Add a few flatter words to the school and the people probably will be more pleasing..!
Christmas is coming soon, have any plans? Any holidays? Our spring festival will come soon, also. Wish you a happy happy christmas!
Ciao and take care!

Hello from Murwillumbah Hi John, Thank you for all the photos. There can never be enough photos for us. We are most interested to see where you are and how everything looks. Your abode looks very comfortable. Smart kitchen, too. How do you go with buying and cooking food? Do you eat a main meal at school? Do you recognise all the foods that are in the markets/shops? The neighbouring houses look very smart. I can imagine that it must be very pleasant living in a small town than in a city. I would like that, too. The autumn colours against the brown hills look beautiful. But it must be getting cold there now. Hope you have enough warm clothes and shoes. Thanks again for this little window into your life in Korea. Cheers,
Marilyn
Fabulous Autumn Colours! Hi John, finally able to get onto Travelblog. Still a bit of a slow download for photos but I can actually log on too! Best get working on my much neglected blog! Colours are fantastic! Haven't seen such a spectacular display since I was in Quebec and Maine many years ago.
Oh! terrible boys and girls! you had a struggle with terrible teenagers. I think that they are not used to ready to study their class some minutes early.
It was very funny of them operating the ceiling fans in a cold day.
they were over energetic in P.E.? funny.
I read your article.

Aussie English words when I heard "Aussie" for the first time, I misunderstood it as French word. after your explanation. I understood "Aussie"word. It means the shorten word of "Australian".
In yesterday class, I learned various Aussi English words- "underdog", " tall-poppy syndrome"."bag of fruit","frog and toad"- they are all fresh to me. listening abc radio channel is difficult to me. I can't understand without script. but It was very useful to me listening http://accent.gmu.edu site. It can be that I can cmpare various English accents. It so good. I expect next your good class with excursion.
re "Outback Steakhouse" Hi Sue,
The name of the place is just "Outback Steakhouse". I added the the "genuine Australian" bit, just for effect- although, that was what they were implying. Some other co-workers want to go there with me again! Great!
It's rather ironic that the total number of students in one of your CLASSES is 58 and the total number of students in my biggest SCHOOL is 58.
Re "Genuine Australian Outback Steakhouse" Heh John, sounds like you're having an interesting time in Korea! Had to laugh about the "genuine Aussie Steakhouse". You know with a name like that it has to be run by a foreigner- either American or Japanese! So funny. Have fun with your new colleagues and those oh- so-small classes. My new Business English Oral English freshmen number 58! Aaargh! . Hear from you soon. Sue
Tomb mounds I only found one tomb that was open to the public. They are a few hundred years old and don't go undeground. most are usually just one peson covered in wooden box, clay then earth. This one was just half escavated.

FROM CHINA TO KOREA
I have recently returned from two trips to China teaching English and I am about to start teaching again; this time in South Korea. I love travel, especially in Asia and by working there, feel I experience the country more than by just passing thru it.
My previous travels before China were 15 months in North America and Europe in 1975-76 and many South East Asian countries in 1980-81 for another 9 months. After almost another quarter of a century living in Australia, I got the travel bug once again.
This time I decided to do it slightly differently by working. I hear... full info
