Flying into LA, all of my feelings of dislike for the U.S. were solidified. The whole experience was overwhelming, and not in a good way. So many people, ambulances and police whizzing by, sirens blaring, it was a chaos I had not experienced in a long time. I wondered to myself, if given the choice at birth, would I have chose to live in America? America; “the land of opportunity,” but at what cost, I asked myself? Flying over Phoenix with its endless geometrically arranged housing only further reminded me of my disdain for this country.
