Ferry to Coro I agree, too bad the ferry service between Coro and Curacao doesn't exist anymore.
I really enjoyed reading about your trip, wish I was with you on the bus going to Merida ( Was there a few years ago )
Very updating, Thanks! (!Muchas Gracias!) for posting Reading the news today, 12/11/11, upon Manual Noriega, came upon your photos, la Chorrillo neighborhood especially. I loved to travel (when I was young-- 60, stopped travelling, but by books & photos now). I came from a pretty picturesque resort area of U.S.(not as grandeur as Panama). Also reading Cubena's 'Los Nietos de Felicidad Dolores' en Espanol only, that your photos are very social -study supplementing, Thanks,Elton. Best of Luck in your good travels.
Love the title of this blog! I love the fact that you visited my country! It put a huge smile in my face to read your blog and to read the thing you had to say about Banos. I have gone to Banos many time as a little girl with my sister and cousins. An I'm really impressed you ate the cuy. :) So glad you enjoyed!! All of your blogs are interesting.... i'll keep reading.
Tip for shuttles in Miami Your trip looks like a blast!! Just a tip for the next time your are down there, we always use these guys South Florida Shuttles - we dont need to rent cars, or worry about driving. They take us from the airport to the cruise and even do trips to the malls, shopping areas and sightseeing. Great prices for big groups like us. Hope they help you as much as they helped us!
The City Council, should have a Staffer, personally, take the young woman, back, directly, to her people. She should not be there because - obviously, she has no means of support.
Whether her Comarca is next door (or on the other side of the Canal), the country is NOT that big, that taking her back, can't be done.
llama Just got back from the same tour and also tried the llama believing it was also llama. To my disappointment however, a group of certified Tour Guides all confirmed that it's actually beef bought from Paraguay and not llama at all.......It was still good though! .
Enjoyed your travels Elton, Thank you for doing this blog. I enjoyed reading about your travels and your views on things in different countries. I wish you the best of luck in getting back to Curacao. I am a semi-professional photographer living in the hills just outside of David, Panama.
Sincerely,
Chris
Muchas gracias por la oportunidad de ver los carnavales desde Los Estados Unidos. Yo vivo en Missouri y tengo como 23 años de vivir aquí.
Si he ido a Chiriqui, pero no durante los carnavales....Yo soy Chiricana.

I'm Elton, from the island of Curaçao (Southern Caribbean) where I was born, raised and currently living. I grew up in a local neighbourhood just west of Otrobanda in Willemstad. I speak Papiamentu, Dutch, Spanish, English, regular Italian and a little German. Curaçao is a small but unique Island. It's not the typical Caribbean island with just sun and beaches. It has a rich and interesting history and culture. The capital, Willemstad, is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Visit Curaçao . com ... full info
