Hi! Thanks a lot Simon
I will definitely contact them. I am glad is affordable, the lodges in Iquitos in the web seems to be pretty expensive. A bit worried about food, since I am going with my inlaws and want to give a good impression : )
I am glad you enjoy Peru. This december I am next!
Claudia
Lodges! Hi Claudia,
Thanks for your message. Iquitos was very exciting, a great place to visit. The jungle lodge we stayed in was called Cumaceiba I think, and we booked it next to the Yellow Rose of Texas restaurant in Iquitos town. I'd definitely recommend it for the animals and the cabins, though the food wasn't the best! Quite affordable though.
I hope you have a great trip
Simon
Hola Hi I read your blog and Iquitos sounds really exciting, although I'm Peruvian I've never been there. I am going with some friends in december and I am looking for lodges we can see some animals.. Could you please recommend me a lodge/accomidation in the jungle.
Thanks.

I didn't think there were cloud sin La Serena! 4 cloudy days in La Serena, that must be a new record! I remember those coffee shops in Santiago, always felt a bit seedy being there but the coffee was great. Enjoy NZ.
Nice to read about the quebrada again Quebrada de Humahuaca was one of my favourite parts of Argentina. Hope you made it to the seven coloured mountain in Purmamarca. Enjoy Bolivia! Btw, I think I've almost the exact same picture of Ruth at that cafe in Salta!
blimey! can´t believe you got turned away too! maybe they don´t like the brits.
hope you guys are enjoying sunny london... we´ve only got a couple of months left now so see you soon
Llao Llao I'm glad it's not just me and Dave that were turned away from 'Argentina's most famous hotel'! That makes me feel better. If you fancy a big splash out - go to the Don Molina restaurant. It was one of the best places we ate at.

Villa de leyva is amazing...could have stayed there for a long time! definitely recommend the hostel renacer if you have nowhere sorted to stay. have fun! Natalie
Colombia next stop! We're heading to Colombia tomorrow, can't wait to see the Caribbean cost in a few weeks, and those beaches look great in your photos.
Hi,
Thanks for the comment! Looks like your doing a similiar route to us... Did you enjoy Puerto Escondido? I loved that place!
If you hit Costa Rica I´d recommend Mal Pais which has a similiar vibe...
Simon
thanks for the heads up I'm going to be spending a month in PE this spring, and was wondering if I should drive to Oaxaca to check out el capital... but I can't rationalize doing it given the conditions.
I'd rather just drive to guatemala!
monkey theft I'd love to but they were a bit far away!
we saw some more yesterday, and they were the cutest things ever. about 5 of the little blighters on a tree on a tiny island in lake nicaragua. stay tuned for some photos!
10 monkeys in one tree - that surely should be the 8th wonder of the world.
Do you think you could possibly just pop one of these little monkeys under your hat for me please xx
Sqashbuckling Maya Air sounds like Scotair without the shortbread. Try not to annoy any sharks, I hear they get particularly annoyed if you mistake them from dolphins. Rosie x
Pah to Bath That girl was obviously a mentaller, it is good to see that the Bristol/Bath divide runs true across the globe and i'm glad that you chose the right camp Si. xxx
