Bon voyage! Good thing you did not take a dive when the bee stung you! That's what happened to me a couple of years ago. Have a lovely trip! Will be thinking of you.
Love mutton, hate mosquitoes They serve the mutton with some very good spices (hot!) that overcome the meat flavour quite well .... Ride fast to avoid the mosquitoes.
Your cycling adventure Admirable! I am exhausted just reading about your trip. Look forward to long evenings on patios and backyards listening to your stories.
World Wide Telus service NOT No matter where you go my associates are there to keep the network going, always the best of service. If you have any trouble with your cell phone just let me know I am sure I will be around in the next year or two to help out. I am really missing you ice climbing. Best wishes; John
Great to hear from you... I can only imagine that ski season has probably already started. I hear it has been cold in Canada lately. Are you still cycling ?
I haven't cycled since I arrive in KTM as the traffic here is crazy...but hope to do some cycling maybe in Burma or Laos.
Cheers, Susan
Great to hear from you... I never heard back from Chang Mai in Thailand but will probably "drop in" at the University...sometimes in Asia phone and internet communication isn't very reliable !
Cheers,
Susan

Beautiful photos! Glad to see where in the world you are; each time I check in with you I know it's likely to be someplace new. Thanks for sending the link - I'll armchair travel as you go.
An early start is for birds isn't it ? Or hot chickens ? HEllo Mr. John.
As always...you are so so right. With an alpine start (and not having to pick my brother up at the airport at 23:00) we could have made the REAL summit of Mt. Chetamin.
Next time eh ?
This year...my butt is callused so well.
Cheers,
Susan

Well, I started my sabbatical July 1, 2007 and I have a year to refresh myself, explore the world...and analyse data, submit some publications, and present at conferences !
I wish I could send you personal emails to keep in touch but I just don't have the time nor inclination to huddle over a computer in a dark internet cafe corner when the exciting world outside is beckoning me to explore, play and adventure ! I will be checking my email (susan.mulholland@ualberta.ca) and this site for messages so would love to hear from you.
So, this TravelBlog is a happy compromise...I will jot down ... full info
